m0nolith
How do you guys feel about Knights Errant? Do you field them and make good use of them, or do you avoid them because if they lose their mission or die the best you can get is a tie? Personally I think that their rules should change where if they fail/die you would simply lose victory points dependent on which mission you chose. The boater
They defiantly bring flavor. Mine has both hurt me in game and helped me so I can't really say where I sit on the matter. Though I don't play competitively, nor does my group... BLACK BLΠFLY
K-E are super powerful and game changing. I find it interesting people don't use them which seems to be due the possible auto draw. Try them out and see for yourself what they can do. To me they are one of the most interesting units for Heresy play. Canadian_F_H
Not a 30ker, but they sound interesting to me. What exactly is a "knight errant"... besides not a "knight errant" (big stompy imperial walker). m0nolith
Not a 30ker, but they sound interesting to me. What exactly is a "knight errant"... besides not a "knight errant" (big stompy imperial walker). Basically proto Grey Knights. Single model specialist characters that work for Malcador the Sigillite. They are powerful units that have to accomplish a mission during the game. If they fail that mission the best your side can do is get a draw, making a win impossible. If they succeed you get additional VPs. Reyner
I kinda fancy building a Knight Errant to go with my Iron Warriors, not sure how I would build him though I do like the idea of a Librarian! The WarpGhost
Is it just me or is Rubio ludicrously more points efficient than building your own psyker KE? As I read it he's 140 points for lvl2 plus special rules, whereas a generic KE would be 175 for just lvl2 and nothing else. Or am I missing something? Slips
Consider that a Generic KE Libby can also take a Narthecium for FNP to his squad and/or a Jump Pack. Plaguecaster
It's also a good way of sneaking another consul ( librarian with narthecium ) into a black shields force though having a KE Librarian with Servo arm is a cool way of representing a more techno sorcerer style Iron Hand or Iron Warrior Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325070-knights-errant-useful-or-too-much-of-a-liability/#findComment-4477706 Share on other sites
Slips
They also all have Artificer Armour and Iron Halos and Master-Crafted Weapons which consuls generally don't have access to. HOWEVER, I will say that upgrading a KE to a Librarian might cause some iffy RAW interactions in regards to Force Weapons: KE's have MC'd Power Weapons Base. Librairan consuls trade their Chainswords/Close Combat Weapons for a Force Weapon for free KE's, in their wargear, don't have Chainswords/CCW meaning, RAW, they wouldn't get the free swap to a Force Weapon. They are also unable to swap their MC'd Bolt Pistols to a Melee weapon like Regular Consuls. Charlo
While mega expensive, the Nemean Reaver as a KE will straight up murder most other things in combat, he's probably the second hardest non-primarch dude in the game after Sigismund now. Certainly want to try him out with my DA when I do them.
