Hi All,

So being a big conversion guy I am looking forward to the character I will be able to give to my individual Deathwatch marines.

I've got a few Ideas to start with but I was wondering what other cool things you guys have come up with so far?

My first, quite basic conversion will be sacrificing this space hulk terminator to the cause. I think given his claw damage and the big ol' head he is holding he makes a perfect deathwatch termie

I'm also looking in to making deathwatch shoulder pads to fit centurion armour although thats going to be rather difficult.

Anyway, what cool ideas are you guys coming up with?

To make "deathwatch centurions" you'd be better off just filing down the centurion shoulder badge and sticking the small inquisitor insignias on the centurion shoulder pads.

Yeah. But me being an idiot I want the embossed writing :( might be possible with a ridiculously difficult press mold similar

Have a topic where I update with my progress of my Deathwatch.
I intend to make the Deathwatch marines somewhat characteristic and personal.

Using Deathwatch Kill team box (from death masque), Vanguard box, Sternguard boxes, some space marine upgrade sprues, Overkill models, bits and pieces from Space Marines friends and what ever bits I have at home.

I've decapitated the Artemis model and replaced it with another from the Death Company box.

I've also swapped the shoulder pad out for a Blood Angel one.

When I get the Deathwatch Veterans box on Saturday, I'll be mixing it with Betrayal at Calth box.

I like the new MK8 backs with the stowage and knives, but I hate the MK8 torso fronts. I'm a beakie addict.

You can make any torso front fit by trimming the collars on the new deathwatch backs.

After trimming any of the newer torsos after 2013 will fit seamlessly. For good measure I then made small angled cuts and smoothed out the collars on both sides.

Ravenguard is not Ravenguard without beaky helmet.

@Duymon: Dude, DUDE. Your Beakies look amazing, especially the first one with the Dark Fury claws. His posing is just so characterful with his body hunched foward slightly and head lowered like an animal ready to pounce, flexing his claws in anticipation of the kill as he stalks toward his next victim, I love it! biggrin.png

So as a forum lurker I thought I'd share some of my old and new work for the deathwatch. It's quite easy to tell what is old and what is new msn-wink.gif

As we speak with the release of deathwatch, my one army of 1850 just doubled. The old army will be a full on drop pod IF Kantor list, while my new DW army will be a watch company under Artemis with some assassins and Militarum Tempestus inquisitorial troops. On to the pictures:

The mess...

@ Vash, On a scale of 1-10, how good are the GW molded bases?

Though question...

The 25 mm are okey. good amount of detail for the size of the base.

32 mm on the other hand... same amount of detail but on a larger area. It feels a bit empty to be honest.

40 mm are ok too. Much more area, and it seems like they chose to use it on some of the bases.

32 mm score: 5

25 mm score: 8

40 mm score: 7

With some extra effort, with sand and various bits, all the categories of bases can be lifted to 9 or 10. But thats work I don't want to put much effort into...

Aw man, I just did that thinking I was being all original, never mind though he looks awesome. Some great models there

Great minds think alike ;) though dunno about you, but is it legal to field this guy in a deathwatch army, seeing how we have "veterans". Not 100% sure how to RAW this one into my DW force.

I figure most people will have close combat black shields among their DW. Have decided to have a black shield librarian instead.

I don't have the bitz to start it yet, but I'm planning on putting together a Kill Team based on my gaming buddies:

Ahzee Dahak (I think he's mostly dormant now on the boards) will be represented by a VV modeled up as one of his "Iron Man Marines" in DW colors (which just so happen to match War Machine to a T).

0

Another friend will be an Iron Hand with a servo-arm (counts as PF) and a combi-melta

I'll be a Space Wolf with shortened legs and the Frost Blade out of the SW accessories pack (I fence German Longsword a la Meyer)

Et cetera...

I've just started painting mine. I'm making him a luna wolf, I figure him being a loyalist Luna Wolf explains him having such old armour and weapons. And I could imagine one of the few surviving loyalists deciding to dedicate his life to the deathwatch.

Also the rule says he replaces any space marine. So doesn't matter that they are veterans

I like the idea of the DW Dreadnought, but then I look at the new MKVIII armor and think "shouldn't the dread be a little more, unique?"

That's when I got the idea for this guy. I really like how he turned out. smile.png

He has a "counts as" assault cannon and heavy flamer.
