Darkn3ssF4lls
Anyone have some suggestions for things the wife won't kill me to use to thin and mix paints with ? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325278-best-household-item-pallet/ Share on other sites
Jolemai
Depends on the amount, but you could make a wet pallet from a plastic takeaway tub. The info is online (maybe YouTube too) but it's basically a tub with a blister sponge at the bottom and a sheet of greaseproof paper on top. Soldier of Dorn
The other day I was at the local GW painting, and I had forgotten my pallet, so I just used an old WHFB rectangular base (like a 100x60, or something like that) but I don't use a wet pallet (even though I probably should.) So that is an option too, just use a larger base. Darkn3ssF4lls
Sadly for a public transport gimped person such as myself the GW is a bit far from the nearest metro and that's even if I'm on my bike. Space Truckin
chinese food takeaway container not cardboard box kind. the plastic ones, maybe try ordering the soup next time? also the Plastic Coolwhip containers = redneck tupperware. The lids work pretty well and won't be missed. Major_Gilbear
Use an old white saucer/small plate. If you don't have any, you can get one either from Ikea or such, or from your nearest charity/second hand store. White helps you see/judge colours best, and the shallow lip avoids the paint running off (like it can off when using a spare wall tile instead). White Wolf
I use white 6" x 6" bathroom tiles which you can buy from your local DIY store in the UK for a couple of pounds for a box of 10/20. You can clean them or bin them for that price. You can get wet palette paper in the UK from shops like "The Range" or Hobbycraft (more craft, less hobbies these days.... ) for a couple of quid a pad - that's the best stuff to put in a wet palette. I use an old VHS case for my wet palette with foam in the bottom. I also have a P3 wet palette as well - good but pricey compared to DIY options.
