Luna707
Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knows where to get miniature sized chains. I want to chain a sword to a marine's wrist like Sigismund. I'm guessing they're available somewhere but I am not sure how to go about looking. Thanks! NovemberIX
Craft stores with a jewelry supplies section should have what you're looking for, it's usually referred to as jewelry chain and costs a few dollars. IronDrake28
I'm pretty sure FW still has chains on their site. Though it's probably cheaper elsewhere haha Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325294-help-marine-sized-chains-needed/#findComment-4483974 Share on other sites
klisof
FW have some, looking at the pic on their website for chaining a sword to an arm you might want to find a chain with smaller links. Graymane
Model train stores are a good source. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325294-help-marine-sized-chains-needed/#findComment-4484110 Share on other sites
Elzender
I've got these ones, haven't tried them yet but shouldn't look too bad: http://www.greenstuffworld.com/en/clasps-and-chains/27-hobby-chain-15-mm.html They're from Spain, so don't know about shipping costs to USA, but they also have an ebay store IIRC. Major_Gilbear
You can buy very fine chain (just 1mm!) if you search for bracelet/necklace safety chains. These are very fine chains that are intended to be unobtrusive on jewellery items, and which help secure the item in case the clasp opens accidentally. Because they are so fine, they tend not to be very expensive (although they are often fine metals!). Another thing to be aware of is the shapes of chain available. Roughly, these more common types are: box, kerb/curb, trace, wheat, and snake. So whether you after a particular style or not, be aware that they can vary and that it's probably therefore worth making sure what kind you're getting. BrotherCaptainArkhan
Gale Force 9 do chains, but given I used them on my Knight, I suspect they may be the wrong size for power-armoured Marines - maybe better for Terminators. Still worth a look though. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325294-help-marine-sized-chains-needed/#findComment-4484408 Share on other sites

Xenith
Jewellery chain on this guy. It's usually about £2 for a metre or so. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk141/Mechxen/Blood%20Angels/Death%20Company/DSCF0897_zps06f6ac74.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325294-help-marine-sized-chains-needed/#findComment-4485583 Share on other sites

Svartmetall
Ebay is almost always your best and cheapest bet for this sort of thing; I got a ton of variously-sized spikes, perfect for Chaos, for peanuts (I'm talking 600x 6mm spikes for £3) via searching for 'spike bead' in Ebay's bead-making supplies section. Search on 1mm or 1.5mm chain, and check through the jewelry making sections to see what comes up. Ovidius Incertus
No need for the internet. You're in the US, so just head on down to your Michaels or Hobby Lobby or whatever equivalent you have on the West coast. Many options await you in the jewelry aisle. You may do well to bring a mini with you to the store just to check scale. $4 maybe for more than you'll need to do several armies. Khulu
I got a decent amount from those quarter toy machines at a mall. Most arrangements of them have a jewelry option, and those are (almost) always cheap necklaces. I used to use them for crafts all the time before I was I to 40k and they were all a good size for it.
