Uverons Weekly Update 13th Weekly Update

Review of Last Week.

The Christmas fallout week, I spent the week putting together my new models. (Which I do not have great photos of). But that being said I have been making progress with my Drop-Pod. Still not finished but it’s getting close!

I was able to get all of the Ivory finished, just need to do the external metallics, and then weathering. Should be able to get this done in one long

Also because of a warm few days before the new year I was able to spray the new models anyway Below the Cut are some photos of my work-in-progress. Feel free to comment and give me additional hints!

In the next few days I want to finish the drop-pod. Hopefully tomorrow.. And then I will decide if I have time to finish a Jan Vow before I go to work. So expect a post from me in the next few days.

UPDATE TIME!

Well, this could be the last post from me for a few weeks. Its going to be a mad few weeks as I start my new job tomorrow so I thought it wise to make a huge update.

First up my drop-pod.

On the subject of transports the next unit I have finished building is a Razorback / Rhino I built the Laz/Plas from a Heavy Flamer and Plasma Guns from the Oblitorator kit. The story of the Tank is that is is more an technical than part of the main fighting force. I have loaded it with bits of kit that the marines use to build defences and roads for the rest of the army.

Next up is new captain, based on the Space Marine Captain: Lord Executioner model I droped the large Axe for a plasma pistol and a shield. I then decided the guy needed a CC weapon so I used the sword from the Limted Edition Captain.

Not sure if you can tell in the photo but I re-touched the gold on the captain. (used liberator gold) and much more happy with the model than I was

As Iam also talking about cristmas presents there was also this guy. Need to decide if Iam adding anything to him

Next up dreadnoughts. First a pair of Librarians..

I have also built a furioso from the Venrable Dred kit.

Well for the dozer blade I just used one that came with a imperial Guard Tank.. Infact I think it may have been the Astra Militarum Tank Accessories kit.

Oooh that predator is looking schmexy. As is the Razorback. I love all the gubbins you p[ut on him - especially that long vertical banner up front - I never knew that it's curvature was designed to fit on that fron piece. The more you learn.... Anyway, I was wondering if you could tell me what the advantages of the las/plas combo are? I've always foudn that to be such a weird combination! You seeem to enjoy plasma though, as evidenced by the pistol on that cool-looking lord executioner conversion. The dreadnoughts too are looking fine, but I was wondering if anything went wrong with the speeders - their missile racks look a bit off in the way that they are attached to the body of the speeders. And finally we come back full circle to the the flamestorm predator. Nice! Also: cool water mug. ;)

The whole army is looking great, the pred and drop pods are my favorite! The only little niggle is with the captain with a jump pack the stance doesnt quite look right imo, maybe raise the bolter arm so he is aiming? then learn him forward as if he is charging ?

First up the speeders Missiles are not glued on yet. Sub-Assemblys for painting.

As for the Las/Plasma... Basically as BA rhinos are fast it gives it two weapons to fire when moving 12! (Also when it does fire against most targets the Plasma shots work well with the Lascannon (both AP2, and at S7 the they can deal with light armour)

Iam limited on the captain, the arms are fixed in place so unless I want to cut up the model it has stay pointing down. My Plan is to place the guy on a base that makes it look like he is about to jump forward with the Jump Pack.

UPDATE TIME.

Had a bit of free time this evening todo some work on the Baal-pred and try and address the issues I had with it.

This week its been driving a lot on dirt roads in the rain so I spent a lot of time looking at mud on cars, trucks and heavy plant. (I even took some photos of my car after one of these dives for inspiration). And with that I addressed some of the bigger issues I had with the tank, I still have a bit of work to be done before I am ‘Happy’ with it, but it’s getting close.

I haven't updated this thread in some time. Not that I have done a huge amount of work. But Made some Progress...

First of all I finished my first Land Speeder.

I have then done some work on my last 5 scouts. Then I just have 5 tactical marines to paint to get my 1500pts that I need to do for the Tale of 20 Hobbyists. I then have the larger issue of working out what I want to take to any tournaments that I may go to this year.

Having a bit of spare time today, I was able to finish up my final model for the tale of 20 hobbyists, If I have time this week, I am going to return to every model I have painted, Touch them up slightly and then get some better photos. But until then have some photos of my dread (Kinda bad photos as need to learn to use my new phone correctly, I guess)

Update Time.

It appears that I may be able to make a tournament in the next few weeks. (Depending on how work goes), I have decided that If i can make it I will take my Imperials, to do this I need to get another unit painted to get enough points.

As Such I decided to paint up my razor back. It's Going well, very happy with the Las/Plas conversion, and even trying my hand at some freehand on the banners.

Indeed. 

 

The Helmeted heads fit on the scout bodies with no real conversion skills needed. AKA they fit perfectly.
