EdwardBarfield9
How many immolators is a good number to have? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325511-immolators/ Share on other sites
A.T.
In a purchasing or army list context? Any sisters player probably wants at least two as a transport option for dominions / character pieces. Beyond that you can make do with regular mk2 rhinos as required. Exorcists can also be glued together in a way that allows them to be used as immolators as required. I also have 3 exorcists and will have 4-6 Rhino. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325511-immolators/#findComment-4490642 Share on other sites
Isolia
I have one per dominion squad, because 4 meltas attract a lots of attention so they need to get to their targets in a can, plus a few for troops if I want to field small units. The trick is to keep the Immo turrets from Exorcists if you have the GW version of the latter, and put them on the Rhinos when needed (as I have rhinos for the bigger troop squads). One of my immolators is a conversion from a Baal Predator, but removing the turret and putting in a homemade piece of armor also does the reverse trick to make it a rhino, so it's quite flexible. So that makes 3 immolators for dominions + 2 turrets to put on the rhinos if needed for troops, in my case. My dominions always ride immolators. My troops, depends. I like the versatility of "convertible" rhino-immolators. Naminé
I own 2, and that seems to be plenty all the way up to 3k points. After that, I would consider more but I've never played higher then that :p Rhino's make up the bulk of my transports (there's usually 1 extra Rhino then there is Immolators on the board), but sometimes I will swap the Rhinos out for Repressors if by some miracle I have points to spare :p Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325511-immolators/#findComment-4490698 Share on other sites
Servant of Dante
I have 3, but I also have the rhino turrets. So I only have the three transports. I think I need another rhino. Spacefrisian
I just have 1 real Immolator, which i changed a bit so i can use it as a TL lascannon Predator and some Razorbacks with Immolator options for Turrets. dracpanzer
and I thought i was bad for having 12 repressors You definitely have me there. I have four scratch built ones, three are painted. End of summer festivities have kind of derailed my ETL painting momentum. Ive been spending what little time I have getting the last two repressors converted. Nearly to the priming stage. I was looking today and I have some of the MK1 immolator bitz in my box if anyone is interested. Also, I know missing backpacks are an issue for a lot of folks. I have been taking a serious look at what I need of what I have of Sisters models. I will be looking to get rid of packs, dialogus, sacred banner and simulacra models, as well as the usual suspects in the near future. A.T.
and I thought i was bad for having 12 repressors Converted/authentic/full spaced armour? I've had a half-finished mistress of the choir for about half a decade now with spaced armour... undecided about whether I want to rip the armour off to make one last repressor in the event forgeworld ever put it back up for sale. Blackarmor_redtruth
Two for me, and one older one with perma-laud hailer and HK missile - always on flamer duty. I wouldn't mind two more for BBS, but I'm already too tight on points in so many ways. Willy Pete
I only have eight of the Mk I Immolators, most from the 2nd Ed. days. I converted four of the turrets when other gun options became available, two heavy bolters and two multi meltas. I can also use them as either Rhinos, (eight turret hatches with storm bolters on top,) or Exorcists, ( three missile rack turrets made from Tamiya Foot Stuka model kits, this was before the official Exorcist kit came out:) ) I love the Repressor and have six I converted from old Rhinos plus two official Forge World models, ( which look much cooler than my conversions.) My fluff is that the FW models are the Cadillacs that the commanders get to run around in while the converted ones are the Dodges that the regular troops get. Incidentally, you will find that, for some strange reason, your opponents will have an irrational prejudice against Repressors. Something about AV 13 and five people shooting melta weapons or heavy flamethrowers out of them. Doesn't make sense to me, but who can fathom the thoughts of heretics? tvih
I have two. Wish I had two more but I guess I'm out of luck with that until they release a new model, if they ever do. Once I get my marine armory sorted I'll see how many, if any, Rhinos are free for Sisters use, currently I have two planned for that. Willy Pete
You can sometimes find them on Ebay. Right now there's one for sale for $199 plus shipping and handling. The listing has been there for a couple of months, so either the seller has a whole lot of them, or they're not selling all that well. dracpanzer
Exorcist kit gets you all the immolator bits except for the small bubble canopy. GW is still selling those. tvih
Can't afford any purchases right now though, and Exorcist is expensive compared to what the Immolator used to be. I do need a second Exorcist at some point too, though. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325511-immolators/#findComment-4498563 Share on other sites
Aqui
I have one official one and two made from a standard Rhino chassis with the Razorback backplate mount along with the spare Immolator parts from the Exorcists I have. Ideally, I'd love more, but that would mean more Exorcists, and whilst I love the two I have, they are the absolute to assemble. That part I hate Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325511-immolators/#findComment-4498587 Share on other sites

tvih
I thought about converting one from the Exorcist spares too, but will see if I'll actually do it at some point. And I actually did order one more Immolator via the FLGS in the spring of last year, but they couldn't order it in at that point. I ended up ordering the Exorcist from GW directly a few months later, but didn't get the Immolator.. can't remember if it was out of stock at that point or if I was just broke ;)And yeah, as for assembling the Exorcist... I haven't been brave enough to try it yet Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325511-immolators/#findComment-4498643 Share on other sites
A.T.
And yeah, as for assembling the Exorcist... I haven't been brave enough to try it yet Depends on how much you want the tubes to sit flush with the vehicle. The rest of it goes together fairly easily barring slightly warped side plates but the base for the tubes is a terrible fit. I gave up and just hid the gap behind a couple of laud hailers from the bastion/defense wall set.
