Ultramarines 30K Kill Team "Honorem"

Recommended Posts

On some of the marines if you look closely you can see the cuts but on most its not too bad, I will try and get a close up pic of the decal/shoulder pad but using an iphone camera is proving to be slightly difficult to get it to look decent enough when focused on the pad.

Have you thought about painting over the decals? I would suggest doing so for a couple reasons: it's not as difficult as "true" freehand, since you already have a guide on the surface, it'll fix the problem of the cuts, and you'll be able to change the color of the symbol if you feel so inclined (say you wanted to do a black Ultima instead of a white one, you'd be able to do that.) :)

Still, great work. They're coming along very nicely.

Looking good, nice posing.

Many thanks!

After your suggestion I painted over the cuts that were noticeable and it made a world of difference, thank you!

Got everyone completely finished apart from the apothecary now! Here they are all decal-ed up.

I ruined the original apothecary figure trying to paint white over blue, so this time I figured I'd just go for a full white apothecary to make it a little easier!

Thanks for looking!

Glad to know I was of some help. smile.png The (almost-)finished Kill Team looks really good, great work all in all! Would never play 30k (or 40k, for that matter) Ultras, but seeing nicely painted Marines of any sort makes me happy. I look forward to seeing the Apothecary painted.

Phenomenal work dude. Gritty, war-torn Ultramarines worthy of the cognomen War-Born in every sense. Now get some proper gallery standard photos of the whole killteam and fluff to boot msn-wink.gif

Thank you both! I've attempted to take some better photos of the killteam and whilst still not perfect I think they are far superior to my previous images.

I've finally got the apothecary finished, so the whole Killteam is completed now! Which only means I should probably start on painting my whole army which are sat just basecoated blue at the moment!

Anyway here are some pics of the completed apothecary and killteam!

I feel like quality is lost when the images are scaled down, is there a way around this at all by making the images more board appropriate size whilst keeping the quality?

For those interested in seeing them in better quality and aren't bothered about large images here are some links showing them a little better:

Many thanks for looking all, I'll get another WIP up soon for my whole army and I'll try to work on some fluff to put up as well. No promises on how well it will be written however! tongue.png
