Scouring loyalist emperors children

What does everyone think of this idea? I've had a 40k army, the Phoenix lords chapter, for some years, and always toyed with the idea of having them actually be descendants of loyal list emperors children, and it finally clicked after seeing someone else's thread about scouring era Templars that I should do a force representative of an EC scouring force.

Could anyone see this not working? Are there any fluff pieces that would make this a defunct idea?

Would people be even interested in seeing such an army?

if the idea does in fact prove to be viable, and I can figure out how to post pics from my phone (or get a working camera and my PC out of storage) this will become a WIP thread as well!

Do it, do it NOW! There needs to be more Loyal ECs out there, too many deviants for my liking....

 

I don't think there is any real reason why it isn't viable or fluffy. There is strong suggestion that the Red Scorpions are from EC stock.

 

Scouring Era is going to be a chaotic time, loyalists would probably have a degree of scepticism for loyalist from traitor legions, but they wouldn't expunge them out of hand, the Imperium had yet to become the puritanical dictatorship of 40k, so they wouldn't consider them to be fundamentally flawed and tainted by the sins of the father, so to speak..... plus, there is already precedents of people like Garro and Dantioch being accepted.

There are plenty of 40k chapters that have unknown/suppressed Founder Legions- having the Emperor's Children as one of them wouldn't be beyond plausibility. I'd love to see it. The Great Scouring is a good time to place loyalist Traitor Legionnaires- the rules for Blackshields are there for this specific idea.

 

Fluff-wise, you'd be looking at members of a company/chapter/warband that was on another mission during the events on Laer/Murder. Something like a detachment on Chemos/Terra doing recruitment activities or the like.  Your Legion would likely be lead by Terrans, so having them based on Terra (and having the Sigilitte's tacit blessing) could work really well. Maybe led by a Primus Medicae, kind of an opposite of Bile- perfection through the destruction of Bile's experiments and the constant testing of their own gene-seed for impurity.
