weeman
Well after a long absence from gw games I'm back with my Iron Hands on board the 30k train. I'm building an army I could use wither with 30k or 40k rules for the most part which will limit some of my choices. But I'll be building this force slowly, I'll start painting in a couple of weeks in my next proper weekend off but I hope to have the rest of the army so far built before then. I'm waiting on a new pin vice to drill out the barrels. Iron Father Aedelstan http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa352/liamjamescoupland/80BD06B9-277C-4AC1-88BF-137B626AB507.jpg Clave Cenhelm. Veteran Tactical squad http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa352/liamjamescoupland/C45763B0-232F-45FE-830D-2645BD0D4A90.jpg http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa352/liamjamescoupland/7CE37095-7D91-4463-8F75-A82F7D61466E.jpg I've since built the rest of the squad. Plasma Tactical Support squad. clave Wymond http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa352/liamjamescoupland/C8C1E948-6CF5-45C5-95E7-B941BA0D738A.jpg I need to change the plasma pistol for a plasma gun on the sergeant. Iron Captain Rumaan and Iron Father Wystan Are built but can't find a pictures atm. 'the Angel of Istvaan' http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa352/liamjamescoupland/6B06CA4C-B153-4A14-9BDA-445FCD0E40CE.jpg Working on his fluff. But short story is he was a survivor of Istvaan. Heavily cybernetic now, has become death incarnate after delivering his testimony of the betrayal. He will lead my jump pack destroyers. I need to add a power weapon to his Arsenal now I've got the red book. Contemptor Eddard http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa352/liamjamescoupland/694EFAC3-C82A-4E9F-9A28-55E48F3F5637.jpg He's built and arms magnetised. But I want to reposition his legs. He's a bit static. I've started my Cataphractii. Trying to magnetise as many arms as possible. Next to go is another veteran tactical squad, a tactical support squad or a heavy support squad. Depending on if I decide flamers or missile launchers, and a squad of Gorgons. http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa352/liamjamescoupland/92A56031-A28C-4BCA-ABE4-DAAF205497E9.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325606-iron-hands-iron-hearts-clan-kaargul-go-to-war/ Share on other sites
Corswain
Looking promising! Those are the metal/resin Iron Hands upgrades from GW, right? I was just thinking about how compatible they were with the MKIV yesterday. They look like they fit pretty well. weeman
Yeah they are all the metal upgrades of old from GW. The shoulder pad is a bit thicker thank the plastic mk4 but not too noticeable at a distance. I cannibalised my old iron hands army for parts, the bionics all fit really well too. weeman
Gorgons built, just need to file GS on my chain fists when it has cured properly. Just the Cataphractii, 1 tactical squad and a heavy support squad(im thinking flakk missiles for AA) to go. http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa352/liamjamescoupland/4592012B-BD60-4CDB-81F3-035CD898F0EC.jpg Fist draft of fluff for my Moriat done too. The Angel of Istvaan +++Excerpt from the log of Iron Captain Varangaal, Master of the cruiser 'Fist of Light'+++ We broke from the empyrean at the outer reaches of the Istvaan system. We had almost tore our ship apart trying to keep up with our Lord Ferrus Manus and the Ferrum. We had become becalmed in the warp and become lost behind the rest of the fleet. The last message we had was that Ferrus and Lord Dorn's strike force were descending on the traitors. When we broke into the very edge of the Istvaan system in a tide of Eldritch energy, the comms systems were abuzz with data. Before long we detected two craft heading our way, a small, barely void-capable transport being chased by a void-fighter bearing the unmistakable markings of the World Eaters. They hadn't expected us, and we shot them down in a flurry of missiles. When the ship limped aboard she was carrying a handful of Salamander marines and a single Raven Guard. "Thank you" spoke the Salamander leading the coterie. "We have some terrible news if you haven't already heard. But it should come from one of your brethren." He beckoned backwards and a pair of salamanders brought forth a makeshift stretcher carrying someone so battered and broken they were unrecognisable. Both his legs were gone, his right hand a torn and bloody mess, his right eye, face and chest were covered in the unmistakable welts and scars of boiling plasma fire. "Brothers, our Lord and master fell. I was there. On the flanks of the Morlock advance with my brothers of Clan Avernii around me. I fell early, a volley of plasma fire shredding my terminator armour, and me it looks and feels like. I was being tended to by one of my Salamander brothers here." He gestured with his stump to the Salamanders apothecary. "Ne'stan saved my life." "Then, I saw our Lord duel the arch-traitor Fulgrim. When it seemed out Lord had the advantage, a cloud of baleful smoke ensnared Ferrus and Fulgrim both and when it was gone only Fulgrim stood." "We were taking fire from the other traitors. The Night Lords, Word Bearers, Iron Warriors and Alpha Legion. They have all sides with Horus. Dorn must be informed of their fall, and we must do what we can to stop them. They must head for Terra. It was always the Warmaster's favoured tactic. The Speartip. He has no choice to go for the throat now." ...................................................................... At this point he collapsed. I immediately gave orders to head away at best speed. To get out of the system and spread the word. We then took him to our Medicae facilities. Over the next few weeks and months we stabilised him and rebuilt him with the best bionics we had onboard. We collected his ID from his gene-print. He was Sergeant Arwarnach. When he came to be said he would be forever Death Incarnate in memoriam for his fallen brothers. He would hunt the betrayer until his dying day. He then spent days writing the names of every fallen Avernii brother, his Oath of Vengeance. In the battles we have thought with the traitors since, as part of Captain Meduson's plan, he has born this Oath of Vengeance on his wings, his Jump Pack, as a Moriat, an Angel of Death, the 'Angel of Istvaan.' He now leads the Destroyers of Clan Kaargul, the sigil of Clan Avernii framed on his right shoulder in red, in memoriam. weeman
Well long time no update. I've since built the rest of Betrayal at Calth, picked up another dreadnought, 10 jump pack destroyers (painted as nightlords but need a strip and reprint), 3 magnetised night lord apothecaries/primus Medicae (jump pack/normal backpack need stripping), a Hunter as a proxy medusa and bought Prospero. I'll get round to a full army shot once I've got Prospero largely built ( am planning to save 10 mkiii as breachers when I decide on shields) as I've started painting when I've got a free few minutes around uni. Lastest character Wip. The Herald Eomer. http://i1193.photobucket.com/albums/aa352/liamjamescoupland/Mobile%20Uploads/ABD967F3-CB9F-4951-A2BC-4445F000F2A3.jpg Need to add some Iron Hands Etched Brass to the Aquila and I might rethink the head for one with some bionics. I'm thinking of adding a Space Wolf Watch pack using Geiger and 4 mkiii marines. Was thinking on a story idea to intergrate the custodes and sisters into my Iron hands and they fit in naturally aswell. Will give me something different to paint and something different to convert.
