Master Sheol
So it starter with the bike in DWO and now the DW bikes have new bigger bases Too... Do you have plans to convert Your older bases to the new standard? There is some adapters out there for new bike bases? Major_Gilbear
You mean switch to ovals from the "pill" shapes? Personally, no, I won't be switching. The pill bases are big enough, and look good. The ovals... don't fit with my other bases really. I wouldn't mind seeing a pill base that's made around a 32mm size instead of 25mm though - nice way to make hero bikes stand out! As for adapters, I doubt they would work; the shape is different at the ends and the adaptors couldn't manage that. Duymon
After having pried off those old rectangle warhammer calvary bases , purchasing pill bases and then regluing and rebasing my entire 2nd ed ravenwing stuff... No... not doing that again Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325618-new-bike-bases-and-old-resin-ones/#findComment-4494709 Share on other sites
nyahoi
I'm on the fence with this personally. I like the idea of all my base sizes being the new standard, but feel like the ovals are way too big for bikes. Mithrilforge
Would said new ovals ruin unit coherency?..will the new bases cause your 5 man bike squad to take up more room than necessary GW doesn't sponsor tournaments anymore and i'm not likely to play at Warhammer world anytime this century so i think using a new oversized base because GeeDub wants to change it to perhaps(speculation)give resin base sellers a headache and maybe make you rethink ba$ing and going and buying a heap of new base$ and perhap$ glue,ba$ing material$ and hey do you need any new paint$?,perhaps the new white dwarf while your here ...Thank$ for your Dollar$ ...Patronage. Mithril plus i have a heap of dragonforge tek deck bases for bikes and it'd be a shame to ditch those beauties Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325618-new-bike-bases-and-old-resin-ones/#findComment-4502641 Share on other sites

AndrewChristlieb
Nope, use what the kit came with I say. Does anyone even have a problem with the old rectangle bases? I know the pills look better in my opinion, but I know quite a few people who still use the old ones and it's never bothered me. Gordon Shumway
I think I will use the larger ovals for character models (lords and sorcerers), but not my bike grunts. Soldier of Dorn
Well, considering that I only have three, pretty badly beaten up Chaos bikes, if I get more bikers I'll put them on the new bases. I think they look nice. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325618-new-bike-bases-and-old-resin-ones/#findComment-4503912 Share on other sites
Semper Fortis
Nope, use what the kit came with I say... Yeah, what he said. I still have half a company of RW bikes on the old rectangles. I wouldn't live long enough to rebase 50 bikes. abadizzle
Guess I'm crazy, but I've been making 32mm pill shaped bases for mine since the advent of 32s. Got a small razor saw miter box and a boatload of 40mm fantasy square bases and set off to work! The ovals are nice in my opinion, but the 32mm pills are just about perfect. My 2 cents!
