MrKeef
Hello there, I'm trying to convert up a Watch Master and the only thing that has me stumped is the Clavis. How do I either convert one, model one or buy one (if there are any good 3rd party alternatives?) Anyone got any good ideas? A narthecium isn't far off, you could get rid of the extra spiky bits and what have you. MrKeef
That's a pretty good idea actually, I'll have to look into that! Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325622-conversion-ideas-for-a-clavis/#findComment-4495320 Share on other sites
Vel'Cona
Green stuff and squiggly lines (I like to use the tip of a pair of tweezers as my sculpting tool). Thunder_god
A sewing needle chucked into a pin-vise works well for sculpting letters into green stuff as well. SW1
Sharp blade kept wet will allow you to get some decent details: Carved out the hand and drilled holes for the wire bits. Glued them in place. Smothered the arm in gs and smoothed it off. Them marked the squares off with the blade of a scalpel. Once it had firmed up a bit added random angular shapes to the squares. Then added the hand. If I was doing it again I'd add the hand before doing the gs'ing!!! Didn't do the back as it won't show and the arm wouldn't sit close enough to the body with extra bulk on that side either. Vel'Cona
I was hoping you'd show this one off in here! That's what I was referencing. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325622-conversion-ideas-for-a-clavis/#findComment-4496008 Share on other sites
SW1
I was hoping you'd show this one off in here! That's what I was referencing. Cheers. I just raided the bitz boxes and then it was a bit of a head scratch until I found an arm it would work on. Having the mk3 plate to guide me helped a lot. On a mk7 arm I struggled to get an even layer of gs on the forearm. Vel'Cona
Yeah they're super skinny. I for one am glad marines seem to be scaling up in newer models.
