Space Truckin
Is their a similar industrial / household cleaner / protector of flooring product that works the same? I'd get in more trouble from my wife buying Future Floor Polish ( because it's an SC Johnson product) then getting caught sneaking in another $300 worth of plastic crack into the house. I'm not wanting to start a debate on ethical consumerism so please let's just skip that part, does anyone know of an alternative? I currently use Vallejo varnishes but I want to start oil pin washing so I know I'm gonna need a lot of gloss varnish. Looking for something I can get super cheap from Kmart or grocery stores like Future Floor Polish. Thanks in advance! Major_Gilbear
Hmm, so many brand names that are actually owned by SC Johnson! I found Quick-Shine Multi-Suface Floor Finish, which might work? Reading the ingredients on the back and the description on the front, it seems promising at least. Edit: Here's another product called Glaze N' Seal that's an acrylic floor polish. Space Truckin
Ok thanks! Yeah ran into the same thing with SC Johnson owning so many brands. So I'm looking at any hi-gloss acrylic floor polish with a 'leveling agent'. I'll take a look around for these brands and do some testing. Thanks! edit - we have a homedepot here and they carry the Quick shine products so I'll start with that! Thanks again! Major_Gilbear
Well, you need an acrylic polish. To be honest, the Quick Shine says it contains "polymers" and these may or may not be what you need. All I've done is search for equivalent products (which may or may not be the same), so before you put it all over your lovely finished minis, please try it on a test subject first? ;) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325636-alternatives-to-future-floor-polish/#findComment-4495531 Share on other sites
Space Truckin
Definitely will test it out first thanks again for the heads up! Its worth giving it a shot. We have very high humidity here so i'm nervous about frosting anyways. Had a similar experience sealing ceramic tile on our porch with hi gloss acrylic sealant. It still frosts up if water sits on it too long - but eventually dries back clear. I also found another product that I might be able to find at one of the local big box stores called Weiman Hardwood Floor Polish. Kisada
buy Future ... buy an empty bottle ... pour future in the empty bottle and throw away any evidence that it was an SC product Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325636-alternatives-to-future-floor-polish/#findComment-4497825 Share on other sites
