TempestBlade
So this will be my blog about the Deathwatch painting challenge. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Here is the primed models ready for some TLC And the first Blood Angel of my Aquila Kill Team. I gave the whole squad Stalker pattern bolters and later on might add a HB or a terminator with cyclone missile launcher for added firepower Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325806-the-long-watch-begins-deathwatch-painting-challenge-blog/ Share on other sites
Thunder_god
Nice! What parts aside from the stern guard bolter did you use? TempestBlade
I took a left arm that is holding the grip of the bolter (near the barrel) from a tac squad and clipped off the open hand and then used the Deathwatch shotgun arms and did some trimming to fit the stet guard hand holding the bolter. Next I took a GK interceptor backpack and clipped one of the posts on the back off and glued it to the end of the barrel. Pretty easy conversion in the end. Amazing use of the interceptor backpack pointy bits. Consider this idea borrowed. Â *wonders off to rummage for GK bits when I should really be sleeping* Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325806-the-long-watch-begins-deathwatch-painting-challenge-blog/#findComment-4501181 Share on other sites
Prot
Wow. That's a clever conversion and being a grey knight player I recognized it immediately. Very well done. And since I have so many interceptor packs, I'll definitely be stealing your idea! Â I did a 4 man squad using Stalkers but if I do a second squad I'll have to try this. Â That's a great start to your vow. Vash
Great looking veteran! Good level of details, specially on the back pack. There are items there that I don't even bother with, but you manage to get it done. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325806-the-long-watch-begins-deathwatch-painting-challenge-blog/#findComment-4501310 Share on other sites

TempestBlade
Another day another model! Thanks for all the words of encouragement! I cant take credit for the "silencer" at the end of the barrel though, I read it from a post here on BnC I forget who made the post though. Vel'Cona
Yup, definitely stealing this idea. Now to find a GK player with a few spare parts around . . . Great looking paintjobs, btw. Very neat and with just a bit of glossy finish. TempestBlade
Update! I finished the "Tempest" () pattern stalker bolter squad! I tried to give the guy with the auspex some lighting effect. Next project I think will be the Chaplain. SW1
Thanks for the inspiration with the Tempest Stalkers ... Hidden Content I've got a feeling these will not be the only ones I end up converting up. :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/325806-the-long-watch-begins-deathwatch-painting-challenge-blog/#findComment-4505430 Share on other sites
