Kill Teams

The time out ate my attempt at a large initial post.

So short(er) version:

Got inspired.

Accepted I will never finish a full army.

Kill Team is small and updated to 7th edition free in iBooks, as did Crimosn Slaughter (amongst others).

Did these years ago (March 2013) and loved it:

Did this guy at the same time although he has a buddy:

Got lots of old Chaos stuff in a shocking state, a bits box now bursting with Goreschosen/Slaves to Darkness stuff, and a sonic weapon (and Superdrug acetone free nail polish remover).

Oh, and hundreds of 32mm bases which when scenic'd up just make any marine look amazing.

So I'll strip these guys (and bezerkers, and other chosen not in shot, and possessed), using the box they are stood on:

A close up of the horrors at the front I got for 99 pence off eBay.

So, I'll probably do a jar strip first and then use the bath.

Then after the ultrasonic chemical swim the sawing and cutting will start.

I'll juggle three squads at once as the mood takes me but basically:

The Hateful Eight - Khorne Bezerker remnants from different warbands stalk the ruins of a world they have been abandoned on.

Seven Slaughterers - Crimson Slaughter Chosen infiltrate and slay to stave off the voices.

Third - No name as yet but basically a Crimson Slaughter possessed collective that I can really go to town on using Chosen, very old mutation sprues, forsaken sprues, and if desperate the actual possessed sprues (I loathe the models). This will be heavily influenced by the FW Word Bearer stuff as according to the supplement a lot of Crimson Slaughter turn back "normal" in a way that is similar to the Gal Vorbak.

Anyway the first step will be testing the ultrasonic cleaner fill with good old Superdrug Acetone free nail polish remover on a old 2nd edition plastic chaos space marine to see if it does anything horrible to them.

You actually use these things for cleaning tool parts, in my case air brush bits.

Khorne alone knows what it will do to plastic. It'll be fun finding out smile.png

@ Noctem: Ta mate, they should do. Just been fiddling with the codex and Kill Team rules around specialists and deciding what to take.

As aside initial stripping is going well and some are coming apart nicely on their own.

Having looked at the same models on the sprues means this has pleased me greatly, as it will be so much easier to convert them and preserve removed parts for other conversions.

However I started on the attic/loft grand tidy up and rummage and that, combined with general reading of codices, has sparked all sorts of ideas.

@Race Bannon: I never painted him, and he was only dry fit. Thus I never will. As he is 2+ save he is a no-no for Kill Team, and the points alone would smash through 200 if even if he wasn't smile.png I included them as they were the sort of slow burn gateway drug into axe wielding madness.

However his lamprey maw will see use on the Crimson Slaughter possessed.

The Grand Attic Rummage is taking far longer than expected but I have at least found the spare AoS Bloodbound and Slave to Darkness stuff to help tart these lads up.

Logically I'll do the two Khorne Bezerkers I started all those years ago first. I have been looking through my Khorne Notes for the various warbands I researched and I think, to be odd, I'll put a Blood Disciple in there.

At least he won't be a former 8th Company Red Wolf inexplicably holding a boltgun whilst everyone else from his assault company became raptors msn-wink.gif
