GrandMagnus
Take a look at this picture: http://vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/warhammer40k/images/b/ba/Kolbyr_Hunter_Support_Squad2.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20150209072401 So, did space wolves have grey or metallic power armour back in the heresy? Because a lot of the artwork seems to be metallic power armour. I kind of like the metallic look over the storm-grey, but that's just my opinion and I would like to hear your opinions on the matter. Lord_Ikka
Dark grey or metallic grey is what the novels say I believe. So a darker version of their trademark color. Hfran Morkai
I imagine there could also be variations dependant on Company and maybe to a lesser extent packs or individuals. I'm going to use a grey but non-metallic as my force is designed to be a force of infiltrators. GrandMagnus
So, from a collector/fluffy/artistic point of view there would be nothing wrong with painting space wolves in a dim metallic scheme? Maybe even some sort of metallic/grey combination. I do think grey is an okay colour but it looks so dim and boring, however a dark gun metal would bring some spark to the VIth. So I played around with some schemes and I think I settled on one. Much happier with this then my grey. It feels more like gritty armor. As soon as I can borrow a camera I'll post pictures. I believe his method is leadbelcher with two coats of nuln oil and one of agrax earthshade Thanks I'll check it out. I've been quite inspired after seeing Russ, it's a really nice mini (except for the ridiculous sword). Now I'm just hoping for some plastic MK III (and selling some of my old stuff) :D Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326119-so-question-about-the-vith/#findComment-4514182 Share on other sites

betrayer41
Oh these look really nice. Looks like leadbelcher with a series of washes, am I wrong? Which models? The troops are black with grey airbrushed over and burnt iron over that then black oil wash. The tanks are black, grey, and then vallejo burnt iron and that's it no washes or highlights.
