My kill teams

It's been a long time since I've done anything 40k related. The recent update to the Kill Team rules has inspired me to get back into things. So here is what I've started with.

Since they were first introduced to 40k I've loved the concept of Sternguard. Since I'm a Space Wolf player I haven't ever had the chance to use them. So I decided to build me some Space Wolf "Sternguard." Game wise I'll run them as either Grey Hunters or Sternguard, which is why I'm building a range of models to fit both themes. Here is what I have so far.

Alrik Ironbrow in a suit of MK IV armour decorated with fur and wolf skulls. Gunnar Longhowl wearing rune etched MK VI armour.

Erik Steelheart in standard MK VII armour takes aim with his bolt gun. Ivar the Stoic stands watch in his MK VIII armour.

Olaf Thundergrowl wears an eclectic mix of armour versions. A MK IV helmet, MK V chest plate, MK VI leg, MK VII leg and arms. Torstein the Burner has always had a fascination with fire, now put to good use by carrying a heavy flamer.

Valdr Fangmarked kneels to reload his bolter with a larger box mag. Arne Redclaw rushes towards the enemy, eager to introduce them to the keen edge of his blade.

Finally, the leader of the kill team

Haakon Half-Hand

Haakon lost his right hand and most of his left hand in the battle with orks that also took the lives of the rest of his pack. Upon receiving bionic replacements Haakon took the vow of the Lone Wolf and sought a glorious death fighting against the enemies of the Allfather. Despite his best efforts he could not find a foe equal to his fury. Eventually, after tearing out the throat of a Khornate champion with his teeth, he was given a new pack and a place among the Wolf Guard of his lord, Ragnar Blackmane. He now leads a veteren pack of Grey Hunters.

In game Haakon will use the rules for a Lone Wolf.

Next to come are 3 bolter marines in MK II, III and V armour and 2 other marines with empty bolter arms that I can drop special or combi-weapons into. Waiting for FW resin and other bits to show up. I'll also be building a Sons of Orar tactical/Sternguard squad and a true scale marine kill team using converted Stormcast Eternals. And yes, I still need to drill the gun barrels...
