GrandMagnus
Why so many picture him with a beard, he's never been described that way in any source. All though I do agree it would look rather cool, since no other primarch has a beard. Kizzdougs
Personally I love what we've seen of the mini so far. The level of detail on the armour etc and the dynamic pose of the mini are both really great. Definitely one of the better Primarchs. I can understand that some people don't like the fantasy-esque aspects of the sword, but unfortunately that's the style of blade that he has always been pictured with. I feel that it would be more disappointing if he didn't have the sword or if FW had changed the design too much. Also, he's never had a beard, although I'd love to see someone with some serious sculpting skills give it a go. I really hope I get the chance to paint up my own Wolf King at some stage :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326202-the-wolf-king/page/2/#findComment-4515894 Share on other sites

olsol
If any Primarch should have facial hair it should be Russ (although i'd love to see Rogal Dorn or the Khan with a banging moustache) AND if the model is being released on the 1st of october, then would his rules be released on the same day as well, and maybe the rules for the Space wolves. Love the model too, great 'attacking' pose Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326202-the-wolf-king/page/2/#findComment-4516193 Share on other sites
olsol
Russ does have some nice sideburns though, does that count as facial hair? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326202-the-wolf-king/page/2/#findComment-4516195 Share on other sites
Brother Pheidias
Russ has never been shown or described as bearded, so I'm good with this.Am a huge fan of this model, certainly one of the best Primarchs. Still somewhat miffed that Dorn hasn't been done yet, a he's somewhat overdue in my opinion. This does however bode well for the coming Primarch sculpts! GrandMagnus
(although i'd love to see Rogal Dorn or the Khan with a banging moustache) Rogal Dorn rocking a handlebar moustache, this needs to be a thing. Fire Golem
Overall I think he looks pretty good, but I'm not a fan of how he's dual wielding an axe and a sword. The way he's holding the axe in particular looks really off, like the blade is facing towards him. I'd prefer to have the axe or sword replaced by a shield or pistol. It's a double bladed axe, so one blade is facing towards him, the other isn't. http://i.imgur.com/FTsoRZk.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Q9WopjH.jpg http://i.imgur.com/yjaTcr0.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326202-the-wolf-king/page/2/#findComment-4517561 Share on other sites

Lord_Ikka
If you do a swap with the sword and shield, you would get a really good looking shield charge. Baluc
News of Inferno is the single most disppointing thing to happen in the hobby world this years since... the last news about Inferno. Supe robot gangster #1
News of Inferno is the single most disppointing thing to happen in the hobby world this years since... the last news about Inferno. At this point I'd take a LA pdf of the legion rules so I could spend some money on forgeworld.co.uk and enjoy the hobby again. It is very disappointing. However it does give me time to stockpile more 1k sons upgrade kits and various other Egyptian themed parts. Still doesn't make the sting any less painful. And a bit stupid that a model is released so far in advance of its rules, with presumably no pdf ruleset. Baluc
I've purchased all the wolves stuff has on offer... no heads is particularly rough as GW's plastic offerings besides thunderwolf cavalary are quite poor. If I was confident or even had some information about what they were likely to look like it woukd be something K could buy models for. But FW's price point is too high for me to speculatively spend. Kasper_Hawser
Awesome pose, he actually wouldn't look out of place in a fantasy setting if it were not for what looks like a pistol holster at his right hip Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326202-the-wolf-king/page/2/#findComment-4521165 Share on other sites
Corswain
That shield would look awesome on either arm. On the right for a shield charge, on the left so someone is about to get a smack in the face with it. Someone's going to do it, I'm sure but it'd be nice if it was an option out of the box. Did anyone happen to ask at Open Day? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326202-the-wolf-king/page/2/#findComment-4521196 Share on other sites
