Silk
Hi guys, again i have a question for you, a friend of mine told me that its possible to play an army which is mostly out of Cybots, is that right? And if yes, for what legion would you say that this is totally fluffy? Greetings Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326374-an-army-full-of-bots/ Share on other sites
Brofist
It's the cybernetic list he's referring to. Besides your HQ, everything can be a robot. Your only issue is that robots can't ever score, so you'll be stuck with an army without scoring units. Brofist
It's super fluffy! The Legio Cybernetica have been part of the fluff since the later rogue trader days. They used to be one of the strongest armies, but have since been brought in line with everything else. They're still a really tough army and you can use a number of other troops choices like Thallax or Thralls to give you scoring options. Those choices still have some 'flesh' inside of them, but they're still mostly machine. You can even give them an upgrade that basically removes their brains and makes them mindless robots, so you'd be 95% there. Cybernetica can be run by itself as a strong model light army or as an ally for a legion. While the Legio sided dispriprotuinatly in favour of the traitors, very many remained loyal. Iron Hands, Iron Warriors, Salamanders, Raven Guard, and Sons of Horus are all essentially battle brothers with them, but any of the other legions could work just as well. Gorgoff
He doesn't Talk about the Cybetnetica, he talks about the ROW blahblahblah Ancients where you can play an army made of Dreadnoughts. Silk is german and that's why he calls them 'Cybots'. Yes, you can play that army. It's fun but against the wrong army it's very hard to win with. I played a couple of times against it and can tell you that it is kinda easy to adept as an opponent. apologist
The March of the Ancients Rite of War is particularly fitting for some Legions – Iron Hands and Salamanders, for example – but it's appropriate for nearly all of them. Here are a few thoughts that might spark some inspiration: As the First Legion, the Dark Angels have a broad and well-stocked armoury. In addition, since the events of the Third Rangdan Xenocide, there are doubtless a large number of heroic individuals that were interred. An army themed around these would be fun to try. The White Scars typically shun Dreadnoughts, but if you're taken with the scheme, you might try theming the army around a core of Terran Dreadnoughts that pre-date the discovery of Jaghatai Khan. 'Warily honoured but largely sidelined, the Brotherhood of the Worm fight as a slowly-dwindling group.' Notably large Legions such as the Ultramarines, Word Bearers and Alpha Legion have an obvious justification for Dreadnought-heavy forces; in that there are simply lots of them! Legions favoured by the Warmaster like the Sons of Horus, Death Guard and Emperor's Children will likely have access to relatively more Dreadnought suits than a 'typical' Legion. Similarly, those nearer Terra or with strong connections to Mars, like the Imperial Fists, will have strong supply lines. Slips
It should be noted, however, that some Legiones Astartes Rules, primarily those that require more infantry than any other types of units, may render them unable to or hardpressed to run the Fury Of The Ancients RoW. One should also be aware that each single dread slain awards and extra victory point.
