Look here it is out in the open, we've got some serious pretentious bitching and moaning going on and it's starting to annoy a lot of the frater, now as everyone knows I'm a massive supporter of our group but I've got to throw this out there;

CUT THE BITCHING AND MOANING, ITS A HOBBY FOR EVERYONE AND YOU NEED TO LET :cuss GO, JUST BECAUSE YOU DON'T AGREE WITH SOMEONE DOESN'T MEAN YOU HAVE TO VOICE YOUR OPINION ON THE MATTER

Now I say this not because I have beef with anyone on here or that I'm taking sides, I say this because we're all apparent adults... This site is about unity and brotherhood and showcasing our passions, yes this in turn will lead to some conflict but it doesn't mean you need to cry being butt hurt 24/7, I used to be on here everyday yet lately every time I log in I see this bull:cuss and we need to perhaps moderate ourselves, don't let the mods nuke everything because you can't just agree to disagree.

I say this because for years our forum has been one of the smallest and we had a close group of frater, now as the group swells with numbers we will have conflicts but ultimately were all Part of the ship, part of the crew that may not seem like much but to me it's the summary of why I love this place.

I want to return to this forum and be a daily contributer but the rate this :cuss is going I'm sort of turned off of the b&c currently.

So in conclusion think about your fellow frater, think about the reality of your butt hurt pride and most of all don't turn into a child when your a full grown man or woman.

Kindest regards,
Taron

Mods if you feel it's inappropriate nuke it.

Well, as one of the newbies drawn to 30k from over a decade of inactivity, I actually have been pleasantly surprised with the quality of the sub-forum and its members. There are always turbulent arguments on forums, and specifically hobby forums, but this sub has less of it than others I have been a part of over the years. True, there have been several threads that have diverged into uncivil conversations within the last week or so, but overall I don't see a larger pattern forming. Sometimes attitudes and opinions clash- that can be a good or bad thing. As long as it doesn't start effecting every thread or the general mood of the sub, I think it'll be fine.

No one elected me I know this!

Well I'm trying to avoid the annual repeat with this, it's usually around this time of the year for some reason people seem to be more bitchy on the forum.

Once again were not as bad as some sites and forums but the frater here on the b&c are supportive and usually some of the nicest people I've met, yes the past week it's gotten a bit out of hand but I'm doing this as a generalization.

We should know when to shut up and when to engage it's pretty simple, I don't want us going down that path again

I'm afraid I can't agree. B&C and the AOD in particular is the friendliest forum I've ever seen.

People get riled up every now and then but I kinda see that as a sort of positive thing anyway - people are passionate about their hobby and that's great. Sometimes it can go a little too far but the mods always catch that.

Yes I agree the forum is friendly the people are great and that usually it's not an issue, I'm just iterating that when we do have these issues they usually aren't needed in the first place.

I'm trying to open it up and say look guys it's a bit much we have no need for it in the first place, the fact we can argue amicably is fine but when we have people escalating things and ignoring other people's opinions and standpoints were just as bad as the crap on other sites.

I'm saying that I have noticed it and I'd just like to address it because it seems to usually be the same bull:cuss dragged up and it's the same arguments.

I'm proud of this site it's members and everything we achieve, I just wanted to see if others saw it and if as a community we can actively put a stop to it.

The mods are great our fraters are great even the debates are great, it's just that 1/100 that's nuked from high orbit seems to over time increase and I want us to stay there not increase the rate of this.

As I said it's me noticing it and I'm trying to just try get it across, as I said the mods can nuke it with all the phosphex they have if they deem it so.

I just want us to all try and address this as adults.

My 2 cents nothing more

Instances down here are still significantly rarer than elsewhere.

We're generally a good bunch on the B+C dude don't worry, you'll see the love return oh so very soon

I agree, and I think the AoD folks are definitely one of the strongest subforum communities in terms of positivity and general sense of camaraderie (after places like the BA subforum, which in my opinion takes the top spot.) Those of us who are negative are usually only negative about particular, very specific topics, usually for pretty good reasons.

I don't post this to say the AoD or the frater who post here are quantifiably better than any of the other forums: one of the prime tenets of the B&C community is one of equality among its members, of course, and to say that we of the ship and the crew are any different cheapens the forum as a whole, but there is a strong sense of community here, and I don't think it's bad in the slightest. I don't really see it getting worse, either.

Don't know if i have my pyro-spectacles on, or if i'm simply not perusing these boards as much recently, but i haven't noticed anything recently, apart from some Vlka Fenryka groaning about Inferno, which is understabdable.

Kurama: perhaps not the best idea, but do you have any recent topics i could rummage through to see what you mean?

This is a great topic to put all the negativity in one spot.

Where folks can point fingers and/or justify their stances.

Then we descend down the negativity rabbit hole.

This topic is a waste of time and energy.

If someone is breaking forum rules or you feel they are being overly negative or confrontational you have 4 things you can do.

1. Unsubscribe from topic so you do not have to read it.

2. Use the ignore function so you do not have to see certain peoples posts. I have used it for 3 people at least. Life is much more fun without reading their crap.

3. Use the report button. Thats what it is there for and avoids these whining topics where people point fingers while pretending not to.

4. Ask people to agree to disagree and take it to pm.

My big bug bear is people disagreeing for the sake of it then trotting out "dont force your opinion on me" then acting totes high and mighty when met with someone of a differing opinion.

As I stated I'm not pointing fingers I'm just throwing out my opinion on the matter as its just starting to become a common thing especially when the fan boys get in a tizzy.

We've all been there we all have our hot topics I'm just simply trying to bring it out and say guys all of us including myself should think before we post.

Obviously this was a waste of my time I just don't like coming back and reading through topics and seeing the Op get disregarded or the same questions that we can not possibly answer get asked. The same fights the same disagreements it's all exhausting.

It might just be my problem but when you come on to catch up and within 5 minutes go why do I bother there's a serious issue that needs sorting out by all of us.

Not a dig not an attack just my opinion hence why I'm putting it out there to you.

It would be different if you had a specific example of a topic, but most of us have no idea where you are coming from on this. I lurk for hours everyday and normally I just see mathhammer, unit builds, and army ideas bandied around. I can't remember the last time we had a real nail biter of a fluff discussion. The release schedule slowing to a crawl lends itself to a lack of substantive discussion because we are waiting for new info. Right now it's just gaming stuff and a few plogs.

There is nothing wrong with this forum. If you're getting irritated over something on the internet, take a break. If you maintain genuine concerns over the moral strength of the good citizens of B&C, message a mod, who I"m sure will be happy to give your concerns the attention they deserve if you substantiate your complaints with large amounts of evidence

I've noticed the forums are a bit slower, and there has been dissatisfaction regarding the FW releases.

Is there anything in particular people are unhappy with regarding the community?

Nothing that can't be dealt with by a mod. Though I have seen a couple of instances that probably could have been dealt with better or outright avoided. Gotta leave it vague mind

it's the alignment of the stars around this season that causes it. We are closer to the eye of terror during this part of the year.
