I decided to paint up the Heresy Librarian as a Sorcerer Lord for my Thousand Sons. I think I may end up using him as a second Infernal Master (may ven sculpt some lil daemons for his base at some point!), but I did originally intend for him to be a Sorcerer Lord.

Cracking model. Fun to do little kit bash on him.

I have been playing about with 3D printing recently,  and I thought I would start with making my own armour kit for a Rhino tank. I'd do a lot different with the next project, but for a first go I am pretty happy with the result!

Agreed - like all your stuff, its fantastic.  My only quibble is that the highlighting/shading on the "thousand sons stripes" makes them look 3 dimensional, giving them kind of a puffy or upholstered look that is a bit odd.

I think the stripes are the biggest let down for me. They are too thick, and the paint job, as you say, just doesn't feel right. But I wasn't happy with any other way I tried.

The next version of the kit, the stripes will be much thinner. I did originally have them thinner, but my inexperience with 3D printing meant they kept coming out flat and wrong. I think I have come up with a fix, but sadly the "damage is done" so to speak.

I think I would like to try and sculpt/print my own Terminator Sorcerer next. But it's a big job!

Looking at it more closely with that in mind, I don't have a problem with the width of the stripes - they seem the rights proportion to me.  Rather, I think the issue is from the shading at the bottom of the bands, which make it look like they are curved outwards - I think if you just went with the top highlight and then a consistent colour for the rest of the bar, they would be fine, as its where the shading is most pronounced (such as the yellow bars on the side) where the 3D effect is the most pronounced.  That said, I do appreciate the final product and the fact that you tried a few ways of doing it.

Looking forward to someday seeing your own sorcerer build/print - that sounds awesome.
