Canadian_F_H
Has anybody taken a krak at converting these guys yet? https://www.games-workshop.com/en-US/Space-Marines-Starter-Paint-Set-2016 I am curious about any conversions, especially to other chapters. Can't be that hard. Just take a small file and wittle those markings off, then decal it up like normal marines. Major_Gilbear
One tactical arrow, and one ultramarines symbol... Not hard to scrape off, and the arms can be swapped out for regular arms instead anyway. I suspect that for the teeny-tiny amount of paint you get in the set, essentially paying $11 for a snap-fit marine is considered to be poor value for money compared to a "full" set of ten marines that costs $40 (or even a set of three snap-fit Space marines for $10). I'd suggest that's the real reason you don't see many of them around, and not because they are tricky to convert. Canadian_F_H
Oh I figured that, I was just wonderi ng if anybody here had actually done it yet. Halandaar
Has anybody taken a krak at converting these guys yet? I see what you did there. I have to say I'd completely forgotten about these guys. Shame they aren't available by other means as I quite like the poses. Canadian_F_H
Yeah the poses are an interesting change of pace from crouching space marine hidden heretic! Brother Christopher
I remember reading someone claiming that these models are slightly larger than regular marines and are step towards more true-scale(-like) proportions. I don't want to spread disinformation, though. It's just a hazy memory. Maybe someone can confirm or deny this? They are a tad taller thanks to the more upright poses, but the actual body parts appear to be the same size as far as I can tell. Much the same as the new Deathwatch models I believe; stood up straighter rather than actually larger scale. ShVagYeR
Actually their torsos do seem to be a bit bulkier and taller as seen in this post. Hidden Content http://i.imgur.com/ULoTtp0l.jpg I really enjoyed the kit not because of the paints (although it got me into using Agrellan Earth on my Ultramarines ever since), but because of the new awesome poses. I might take a swing at another box and converting them. IronDrake28
I bought them purely for that combat blade arm, too cool. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326519-converting-the-ultramarine-trio/#findComment-4521733 Share on other sites
Tyberos the Red Wake
Has anybody taken a krak at converting these guys yet? I would, but someone else in my squad already did it this turn. appiah4
They are actually pretty decent snap fits.. I would buy them if I came across them for cheap. GW should make them available for purchase seperately as a cheap tactical squad. Sometimes I really grow weary of having to put together tactical marines. Canadian_F_H
Well that's a whole other ball of wax. I've pretty much always wished they would make bulk infantry boxes. Something cheaper with less bits... like 10x imperial guardsmen with only lasguns for $20, and 5x bolter marines for $15. But still multipart. And then specialists and heavy weapons. Broken down. Ie a 5 man dev box with only 4 lascannons for example. I swear right now there are more bits left over than used in that kit without buying a Tac box to use the left over heavy weapons which yields still a ton of bolter bits etc... But I digress. My bits box doth over flow... Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326519-converting-the-ultramarine-trio/#findComment-4522627 Share on other sites
