Dantay VI
Riku. Best guess would be a mid brown colour to show scorching then black close to the damage site. If resently caused maybe a touch of grey on the very tips of the banner to show ash/ sooting? RikuEru
Thanks you two! Tried a THICK layer of Agrax Earthshade, then brushing on some black at the edge and a miiiiild light grey. It is done... I'll leave the Banner and (empty) Base not attached, so I can pack him up more easily and you can base him like the rest of your army. Runefyre
so....disaster struck. (one) of my cats chewed up the lower portion of my bearer Not to worry though. I've managed to save his upper half, though the banner staff isn't quite as good as it was. He's got a new pair of legs and an empty base. I won't be basing him again. Never turn your back on a mini when you've got a playful kitten around! Go with the flow, use what you have and excel from there. Gemini
The RUINOUS powers of Chaos could not withstand the single minded determination of this Wolf Lords attempts to find the banner. Priests of all names as well as a dozen score Fenrisian Wolves were put to the test. WE ARE VICTORIOUS! The banner has been recovered, placed and Barrett Arnson is standing by waiting for coordinates so as to begin service at the pleasure of a new Wolf Lord in the name of his own. mactire
Just a question brothers, when do we know who we are to post to ?. I'm not finished yet but should be well done by the 6th, i wouldn't mind knowing where I'm to send it to as the bit of pressure keeps me motivated. Will the OP be deciding for us ?, or is it a decision we make from a list ourselves ?. Gemini
My understanding is that we'll check in on or before Dec. 8 when completed with our models. At that point Dantay will send out information on who you are sending your model to and you get to wait to see where you get one from :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326581-the-colours-of-war/page/4/#findComment-4576037 Share on other sites
Runefyre
I've been holding off as long as I can, but it looks like it's gonna be the way it is. I'm not going to be able to finish my banner before the 8th, or any time soon for that matter My work schedule here on the Farm coupled with personal issues has caused all my hobbying time to go out the window. My only window into the hobby is the B&C on my ipod during the day and maybe playing one game a month. I'm very sorry I just don't have the time nor energy at the moment. RikuEru
@Runefyre, don't be disappointed. It's all totally understandable. If I can and if people want to, I'll do this again next year. Maybe we should find the theme for that in time for ETL, so by December we'll have the model finished and ready with ease. Gemini
"Redmaw's Fury" INDEED! I'd like to say Thanks to codyrstuart for making me THE WINNER! I got an amazing banner bearer in the mail today with some incredible stuff going on. Custom banner with a hand painted 'Wolf That Stalks Between Stars' was first off on the eye-poppers! Some brilliant modeling work into his left arm/hand to hold up said banner. My PERSONAL favorite was the 'first plastic space wolves' torso back that has the full wolf pelt WITH HEAD has that little bit of 'throw back' effort that will tie him into my army beautifully! The weathered shoulder pad, SUPER COOL, and his overall armor color is VERY close to my own (a little darker) so again, he'll stand out a bit but not STICK out. I don't have access to a good camera until later this evening so pictures to come. I just wanted to thank Cody as quickly as possible for a stellar model that moves directly into the company of my 'Hall of Heroes' (also known as the top of my monitor) :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326581-the-colours-of-war/page/4/#findComment-4583320 Share on other sites
Dantay VI
Yeeha!! It works... Glad yours came through so fast. Jarl of Wulfen
While I wasn't part of the gift exchange, I did paint a banner bearer in the spirit of it.
