Vykryl
Thank you Gemini for the addition of Grey Hunter and Banner Bearer Barret Arnson. Not the best pic but I got home late and I'm ready for my 6 hours of sleep before work. Good night all. Gemini
**sniff** look at you... all grown into your gene seed and serving The Allfather and Russ... *sniff* they grow up so fast... I think I mentioned it in the note I sent with him but I have my own version of the same model that gets a little closer to the container of Simple Green paint remover we call "The Vat of Shame" every day now. mactire
Got mine today, absolutely brilliant. My heartfelt thanks to RikuEru for the work and effort he put into both the model and his accompanying letter, also to Dantay for organising this. I have to say that I am always a person who prefers to give gifts, especially toys to my kids, nieces and nephews, than to receive them, however getting this and realising the time someone I don't even knowing spent creating it for me has left me a bit overwhelmed. This really is the best forum on the Internet and I am proud to be part of it. EDIT: I got home and unpacked a teeny tiny package... ...and it his dantay's Banner Bearer. Very awesome... I am humbled and honored. People... his Banner doesn't just look weathered and burned... IT IS!!! (I'll post pictures of it tomorrow! I need a bed now.) ...and dantay, I'll post the card you picked a bit closer to Christmas, if that's okay. (Oh and as far as I understood you're already on the rig again!? Please stay safe!) Mactire feel free to share the letter, or atleast the part of it that basically goes for all of us. ...or keep it to yourself. Like a secret. RikuEru
Excellent! How you did the standard? Sprues are... Generic Space Marine Command Squad Banner and pole. (Cut of a corner for the rugged look) Headpiece on top is from our new upgrade sprue. The Decorations are two seperate pieces: Shield with pelt and Chain with pelt&bones - both left over from the Stormwolf/-fang kit. (That kit has quite many optional decoration pieces - most of it is "too much" for a flyer, but perfect for vehicles or something like this) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326581-the-colours-of-war/page/5/#findComment-4592012 Share on other sites

codyrstuart
After 10 days in the middle of nowhere California, I come home to a wonderful surprise from Vykryl. Pictures will follow this afternoon, but I can say that he knocked it out of the park! Vykryl
You saying you were in my neck of the woods? I'm in California's Lost Coast area, 5-6 hours north of San Fransisco. Glad you like gim as I didn't have time to finish the banner. Having my car break down while working 7 days a week killed my free time and creative process (mostly my hands were shakier than normal) :( Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326581-the-colours-of-war/page/5/#findComment-4592846 Share on other sites
codyrstuart
Yeah, I was 2 hours east of LA, fabulous Ft. Irwin. And it certainly didn't show man! I was slightly upset when I opened it and found his finger broke off, but was instantly relieved when I found it (thank god). Vykryl
Only character in the Long Ships he seems to fit is Jostein. He's one of tthe leaders Orm raids England with. He is also a priest in the book, beheading sacrifices with his axe Widow's-Grief. Sorry his finger broak :( I thought I was careful with him. Dantay VI
Glad you like him Riku. Struggled for weathering on the banner so I set it on fire qith my small cooking torch :D Really proud of alk the banner bearers you guys have done :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326581-the-colours-of-war/page/5/#findComment-4593099 Share on other sites
codyrstuart
No worries about the finger. It has since been glued back on. Dantay VI
Yay, glade everyone got their banner bearer. Yep Riku, I am on the rig just now and not getting home until the 27th (weather permitting) I will do my best to stay safe. I'll also ask the missus to keep an eye out for my wee package too. Vykryl, I love the banner and head choice for your banner bearer, Riku, the tattoos and feehand on the banner are awesome, btw did you custom cut that blade yourself? Gemini, Barret is seriously old school and seriously cool :tu: also really like the use of the old school (3rd ed?) banner Cody, that freehand is wicked and great use of bits!! Onyxguard... Man that banner bearer looks great, see you next year maybe? Runefyre, hope the struggles are esing of on you and you can enjoy some down time with Christmas approaching. I am glad you were honest enough to let us know that you couldn't make it and plan accordingly. I know you are disappointed, but there will be next year ;)could give advance warning Mactire, if you have pictures of your banner bearer please post them up so everyone can see him in all his glory... Looking forward to getting home and opening that box!!! :) Well done everyone :tu: Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326581-the-colours-of-war/page/5/#findComment-4594695 Share on other sites
RikuEru
Runefyre, IF you have some free hobbytime in the next few weeks and find some mojo to finish your banner bearer, you and Onyxguard could still trade!? If you want to? Yes it is a Grey Knight sword cut up to look less regal and more savage, dantay. And thanks for the praise! codyrstuart
... Cody, that freehand is wicked and great use of bits!! ... Thanks! The free hand didn't take as long as I thought, but I almost assed it up a couple times. As far as bits, he was already built as a Long Fang Ancient, just had to find a pole and some decorations for the banner where I cut some skulls off. I was almost tempted to drop out and keep him for myself Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326581-the-colours-of-war/page/5/#findComment-4595062 Share on other sites
mactire
Sadly, in my infinite wisdom, I didn't take any pictures of him. Just packed him up and shipped him off. It will up to the recipient to post his ugly mug ; ). RikuEru, I've been dying with man flu for the past week, but will post it over the weekend.
