Alcyon
I did a couple searches but didn't find much (man is Flood Control annoying!) Anyone have a good solution for modelling marines holding Grav Guns while riding bikes? I just hate the look of them one-handing this big, heavy rifle and steering with the other hand. Some poses are OK, like resting the butt on his leg and holding it by the grip, but otherwise it looks ridiculous to me. I don't want to replace a bolter, or really model it onto the bike directly, but if someone has a good strategy for that I'd love to see it. I was thinking using the pistol grip arm and resting the barrel on the left arm, or something like that. Major_Gilbear
Just model them holding the Grav gun one-handed and add a shouder strap? Alcyon
Shoulder strap is a cool idea, could do that with greenstuff maybe (though my modelling skills are nonexistent.) Still seems like they need to brace it on something though. Major_Gilbear
Well, does it need to be braced? Between a Space Marine's enhanced strength and the power armour's additional strength, I think that a strap to help steady the weapon would be enough. Obviously if you feel the "look" is wrong for you, then that's another matter altogether. In that instance, I could suggest: - Mount the special weapon on a backback-mounted servo arm (techmarine style). - Add exo-armour bracing to the arm holding the weapon. - Mount the special weapon on a pontoon/pylon off the side of the bike - like an Ork bike, or like a modern helicopter gun mount. - Add some mechadendrite supports from the bike's frame to a support bracket to rest the gun on. All of these are more techy-looking solutions, and would probably suit an Iron Hands or similar chapter best. Yet another solution would be to do a lighter carbine-version of the guns. You could acheive this by cutting down a full gun, or by extending a pistol version maybe. You could then have power cables and ammo supply on the rider's backback to feed the weapon (sort of like a mini-version of a Devastator). Charlo
I replaced one of the bolters with a Grav gun. Or just has them holding it :) http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah177/nevscorner/20160522_171645_zpsh2e38isa.jpg http://i1380.photobucket.com/albums/ah177/nevscorner/20160522_171726_zps2663lihk.jpg Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326591-modelling-bikers-w-special-weapons/#findComment-4523548 Share on other sites
