Though it's more of the Plog and less of the ramblings

Anyway this is my first time posting anything I've painted before and the first time in 3 years I've actually painted , sooo I'm a little rusty. I've finished 3 VV and 5 Veterans so far and am working on 3 Termies and 5 more vets right now, before I do Kill Team Cassius and my chaplain. More to come! Now onto the pictures...

Vanguard Vets

My 3 Vanguard Vets. Still need to do some touch ups as you will see...

Space a Wolf VV Close Up

Close up of the Space Wolf and Minataurs VV. I like how the SW eyes came out...my main issue is I cannot paint yellow for the life of me so his shoulder pad is...meh. I've given up on it for now.

BA VV Close Up

Close up of the BA VV. I need to touch up his shoulder pad and eyes (it became obvious once I see the photos up close). Also he and the SW have magnetized arms to play around with different load outs...he has a TH, the SW has a Power Axe

Blackshield Close Up

My Blackshield with his assorted magnetized options.

Blackshield Edge Highlights

My first attempt at edge highlighting...need some more practice I feel....

2 DW Vets

2 DW Marines...The FT eyes and shoulder pad need some touch ups..

IHB and FC Marines

My FC and IHB Marines. Overall I think they came out nicely.

Squad 2

My current squad project...3 Termies and 5 Vets

AC/CML Termie

My WIP AC/CML Terminator. I kit-bashed his CML from an old landspeeder I had. Personally I like the look of it, as it has a very Mech-Warrior feel, as if the second launcher is moving up into place to fire.

HF Termie

HF Termie with a magnetized auxiliary melta

HF Termie 2

With the melta in place

Stalker Squad Vet Sgt

My Aquila KT Vet Sarge who will lead the Stalker equipped KT. I kit-bashed his Stalker from a DW boltgun and a Scout Marine Sniper rifle. I took the suppressor off and did some careful shaving and gluing to get it to fit. As for his sword, I wanted it to be a unique and very large dagger so I sliced some "teeth" into it to give it that combat knife feel. That and he's armed with a CCW in my list so I wanted to make it clear it wasn't a PW.

More to come as I do armor and left arms today!

Here with an update! Just finished gettin most of the black armor done and the silver left arms. I also began the red on the weapons, and I'm definitel liking how they're coming out. Next stop....details.

Terminators

The terminators. Apparently my reading comprehension was a fail bc I'm realizing the AC/CML terminator is probably illegal...wah wah

Aquila KT Team In Progress

The kill team is coming along! I am really loving the red on the weapons, especially on the modified stalker boltgun

Nice. You're really going that extra mile with painting even the arms separate. I've felt pretty comfortable with most of the models being put together.... but the heads every once in a while with those high collars can be a challenge.

Great job on the Stalker too. :)

Update! These photos were taken Saturday as I worked (and finished!) this squad...

Stalker Squad Leader

IHB Vet Pre-Wash

FC Vet Pre-Wash

Vet

Vet SGT / Veteran

These are the main guys in the squad pre-wash. Lesson I learned after washing is...I LOVE REIKLAND FLESHADE! Seriously, First time using it and I was astounded by the results.

Vet SGT Squad Leader

Vet SGT shoulders

The squads Veteran SGT post-wasg. I love how his skin tones came out, as well as the detailing and the shoulder emblem. I still have to do edge highlighting (which I'll probably do with Space Wolves Grey) but that's a running theme for all models in this squad.

Stalker vet SGT

Mentors legion!

The Stalker squad Veteran SGT. Again, the skin and face came out much better than I expected, in large part due to fleshshade. I also love the how the finished Stalker came out. One thing I learned I need to work on is painting white. As much as I thinned by paint and layered it on, it still did not come out as smooth as I liked.

Vet SGT

Just a regular Vet SGT

Ultramarines FC

My UM Frag Cannon Vet. I need to go back and do a quick layer of Regal Blue (IIRC) over his shoulder pad as the current blue is a very deep dark blue, almost Navy blue in color.

IHB Vet

IHB Vet.

This week's project is my new Dread and Kill Team Cassius. Photos to come!

Very nice. You getting much use out of that Infernus Bolter?

lol not yet actually. I just love the look of it so much that I want to model them. That and the rules ain't half bad. But in an expensive army (points wise) each point has to be justified and able to make its worth. So far I haven't found a niche for it. I've also only played one game at 1250 so points in general were limited.

I feel in KT games though it will really shine. Especially if you make the Veteran a Specialist and give his primary weapon rending biggrin.png

when painting white on the shoulderpads...try putting ushabti bone on first with a couple thin coats, white will go on much smoother after that, plus if you leave any bone in the deep recesses then it looks like a shade anyway msn-wink.gif

The new washes are a godsend aren't they?,it wasn't like that years ago sonny i can tell ya...we had to walk 10 miles barefoot to get the same results nowadays...laugh.png

jokes aside, the force is really coming together, well done and keep it up!!

Cheers Mithril

Just a little update. I've taken a day off from painting the Dreadnought and Cassius squad and instead worked on this guy last night and will finish him today...

New Project...

Somebody has taken the black...

Baby backpack

Xenos Inquisitor!!

It's my new INQUISITOR!! I have to do his left arm still, and since I want his affiliation to be ambiguous (so I can say he's a Xenos Inquisitor or a Necros, or even a Thanatos inquisitor!!),  I'm painting his left arm and pauldron in red. Still using the deathwatch shoulder pad but it'll be red and silver. I should have him completed tonight with more pictures to follow!

The Inquisitor!!

Inquisitor 2

Inquisitor 3

Inquisitor 5

Inquisitor 6

Completed! My Xenos/Necros/Thanatos Inquisitor (or stand in Blackshield if needed). I tried something new with source lighting (the lantern from the baby) and I realize I missed a bit in that the light isnt shining on the baby itself huh.png

I'll prolly go back and touch that up later. All in all I'm happy how it turned out though!
