Istvaan V Bases

How do I make Istvaan V bases? I think they'd be cool to do for my future Iron Warriors army. I know that Istvaan V was described as having black sands, but the Forge World's diorama has a dark brown muddy color, which has me somewhat confused?

The diorama used 'artistic licence' (which is my way of saying they got it wrong, whether deliberately or not is another discussion). If you want to be accurate, go with black. I would be inclined to use the Micro Art Studio 'desert' bases with pieces of marine armour and/or astartes corpses.

That makes sense. I was thinking maybe using GW's new Astrogranite Debris or one of their other texture paints alongside some others to make black desert looking bases.

I was thinking about using the new "Agrellan Badland" or "Martian Ironcrust" for my Istvan V Bases, painting the Texture black and then dry brushing it with grey and White and filling some of the cracks with fake Water.
