Malcador Alternative?

A bit of kitbashing would be needed, but if you took a Baneblade chassis, converted it like Machinator did to make his Fellblades (and using the necessary treads from Blood and Skulls Industries) it should look more Astartes. I suggest using keeping an eye out for suitable sponson replacements too.

Of course, it might be too big then...

Here you go... apologies for the various states of disassembly, I was in the middle of painting some of these.

Let me expand on this... as you can see, the footprint of the Malcador is much much smaller than the Blade chassis, especially width wise. Even the Spartan chassis has considerable size on it. I'd say the stock Malcador chassis is fine for Marines, as they won't be in full combat gear anyhow (power plant, etc.)...

One must also remember, most Imperial (and thus Legion) tanks were designed well before Astartes were even a glimmer in the Emperor's eye. This includes staple designs like the RH1N0 chassis and Land Raider... perhaps with the exception of the Spartan, which I believe was designed post-Astartes. Marines still make it work quite well, so I see no problem using the Malcador as is. It's still large compared to a Marine.

Just another point... I'd rather use the stock version as well instead of a Blade chassis also because now they're Heavy Support, which means you may field more... which means the board will get quite crowded with upscale Malcadors, especially when legit Lords of War are also fielded.

Leman russ is basically the same width as the malcador, so I don't see how that would work.

Looking at that size comparison, it does seem puzzling how the malcador is a 6hp super heavy, yet the spartan and land raider are just normal tanks.

I think he meant length wise! Which could work, wit a fair amount of effort put in to hide the middle engine bay/ track gap (unless you want it double tracked on each side) and a few other minor things!
