jumping goat
Hi I have a huge horde of Khorne Berzerkers to paint. I want to achieve that dark red/maroon color GW had painted them in the late 90s box. I really like vallejo paints after airbrushing my Emperor's children. Can anyone here please recommend some Vallejo Model Air and/or Vallejo Game Air paints that might help me achieve this dark red look using an airbrush. Khornestar
Got any pictures of them so we can judge the color? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326896-maroon-berzerkers-vallejo-air/#findComment-4533015 Share on other sites
jumping goat
Sorry pretty poor image. As you can see they are painted much darker than the current GW painted Berzerkers. sockwithaticket
I don't know about Vallejo model air, but from the normal Vallejo Model Colour line I'd start with Black Red and then layer up to Red (the number for this one is 70.926, they have/had another paint called red that was much brighter and had a different number) if trying to emulate that scheme. White Wolf
Try a base coat of Vallejo Scarlet Red (72.712) followed by a zenithal highlight of Vallejo Gory Red (72.711), that should give you the effect you're looking for. Those are Vallejo Game Air colours. ATB WW Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/326896-maroon-berzerkers-vallejo-air/#findComment-4533393 Share on other sites
Ovidius Incertus
Ditto White Wolf. Depending on how far you want to get into shading steps, you could start with a 2:1 mix of Scarlet Red to Black or just VMA Hull Red as a base and then work up, or perhaps post shade with that mix. Carlson793
The Vallejo Model Color brochure might help. Has color swatches for the paints.
