Because of my devotion to Khorne and my World eaters true love, the choice of a side was obvious. When I start painting, there was no Traitor's Hate with its khornate formations, and my inspiration was based only on Khorne Daemonkin. I like KDK for several reasons. I think, it brings great flexibility - I can expand my collection with daemons, also - this is truly terrifying army. For me, army of frenzied bloodgorged killers must summon daemons with their rage and lust for blood. And yes, there will be World Eaters... My warband will be led by a former WE... but I think, I will leave the storytelling for future posts. As for the color scheme, I chose the colors of Wrath warband - for me, the most scary warband from all daemonkin. They eat their enemies... this is insane... and I love this bloody madness! My first unit - Bloodletters - is fully complete. I've tried to paint them just as in painting guide... aaand... here they are. Even now, I don't have full understanding of how to paint Bone. My scheme looks like - Zandri dust -> Agrax Earthshade -> Ushabti bone, but I tnink, bone swords looks... not like made from bone. Ushabti Bone is too bright, I think. The most painful thing for me... was taking a picture of my miniatures! That was hell, I don't understand how to pick up the light, because every time - the photos are too dark, and my miniatures looks... just awful. Tired a little of painting this guy, I've tried to make something else. I was inspired to make my killteam, because, after all, my collection is not big... and I have a suitable CSM Tactical Squad kit. I want to give each of my CSM a specialization, not only three of them. I began with a Sniper. Maybe Sniper is not so khornate... and definitely not the member of World eaters (he'll burn himself with rage sitting in quiet place and waiting for the target) BUT I am building a Wrath Demonkin warband, soo - why not? I needed a rifle for the Sniper, and everything I could get was Scouts with sniper rifles kit. And as for me, rifles are... tiny. Sniper is a CSM after all... he needs something bigger. I really like the conversions on the cultists, the weapon swaps look like they belong. If you're looking for constructive feedback, I think the highlights look better on the cultists than on the daemons - not sure if you were watering down your paint a bit more or just getting more comfortable painting but I can see a difference already. Thank you for constructive answer! Well, I painted bloodletters as in manual - khorne red - carrobourg crimson - troll slayer orange - fire dragon - bloodletter glaze. Painting these guys goes veeeryy slooow because of the details, many details. Yes, they are true Khornate looking, BUT - I want to finish them and start something with Astartes finally. Plus, next week I'll be taking important and hard exam (Microsoft 70-413 to be precise), so preparation for it consumes my free time. Anyway, here are photos. I'm not so happy with this miniature, because of wash. I've learned a lesson that wahes must be dealt with caution and accuracy. Too much - and it will look to contrast (and I think That is the case), too little - ant it will look flat. Next time I'll try to be more accurate...
