Alpha Legion- We Biking now?

A Thought struck me the other day, regarding how I could make some of the Fast Attack choices in the LACAL more appealing (not gonna lie- ain't a fan of them).

I happened to be looking at Skorr, and see some potentially fun combos (thankfully not 40k-style Dark Angels jinking hurpadurpa BS).

Notably, Skorr.

Yes, the bikeless guy.

Hear me out- his ability to choose a strategic trait when warlord is what struck me. +1 cover and move through cover when in ruins? hmmm..

So I was contemplating a 150 point attack bike squad, which is as follows

Autocannon x3

Meltabomb x3

Mutable tactics to infiltrate up, and then let rip with the autocannons turn 1 after moving close to an enemy vehicle. Jink (ideally in ruins for a 3+) and use the T5 and 2 wounds to soak as best as possible.

Turn 2, care not for snap shooting and plop meltabombs on something.

Profit?

Naturally, the enemy could just lock them in CC before they get the charge off, or blast them off the board with shooting. But at less than a tooled-up dread, I feel they could do as a good distraction with the potential to ruckus something quite nicely.

Thoughts?

I don't see what you have against the legion fast attack choices, several of them are solid. Skorr isn't even really doing anything for those attack bikes in your proposed build, you could just try and get night fight first turn for a +3 jink anyway, or use legion recon company as irondrake suggested to get a +2 jink. Infiltrate certainly helps makes bikes better though, AL outriders in particular with scout and infiltrate gives them a lot of maneuverability before the game has even started.

Asvaldir, night fighting is a 50/50, and many years gaming made me learn not rolling dice is the way to have things work- hence the revelance of skorr.

8 do see the point re:recon company, but am iffy given the armour handicap's severity. Definitely something I'll consider at the 1,500 point level though!
