time for a new toy....

Hi all,

I'm finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel with my 30k Ultramarines in terms of getting the core infantry put together.

I now need to look at something a bit more mechanical and have the option to get a little something from FW.

I've narrowed it down to the following choices, but can't decide between them.....what would you get and why?

Sicaran

Whirlwind Scorpius

Demios Vindicator Laser Destroyer

Demios Vindicator

Quad Mortar (or maybe two...)

Deredeo Dreadnought

Cheers in advance!

Hard to say exactly what you should get without having an idea of what you already have. Do you need more anti tank? Then I'd definetly go for the laser destroyer or the deredeo, both very solid anti tank choices. Are you playing a more static, infantry heavy list? Then the mortar is definetly the way to go. If all you really need is some armored forces for your ultras, then I'd say go with the sicaran, it's a very solid tank that's decent at anti armor or for taking out peksy units like bikes/jetbikes, plus the model looks awesome.

Cheers guys

I am tempted to remove the vindicator (got a 40k one I could use at a push) and the Deredeo

But the Scorpius, Laser Destroyer and Sicaran are a tough call!

The list is pretty much all infantry so far:

5 Suzerains

10 Tactical Support (Melta)

10 Tactical Support (plasma)

40 Veteran Tactical Squads

10 Heavy Support Squad (Culverins)

5 Cataphractii

Then there will be the 5 Tartaros come next week ;-)

Deredeo with Autocannons and Ailos Missiles definitely. Once you run this guy in a few games you'll never write a list without him.

Also the Vindicator Laser Destroyer is brutally effective for it's points at dealing with armour.

Sicarans only if you're taking 2+ and awarding them Tank Hunter via the Primarch as that makes them very effective at dealing with armour, and can engage infantry well due to volume of fire.
