I wonder, was kyser sose. Or what ever he was called. That dude Russ thought was a 1k spy, around at that time?

Might be from his POV. Wasnt he a Remembrancer as well?

He lost quite magnificently to Angron. It was to prove a point over having superior tactics but it could have cost him his life as Angron is the greatest melee fighter of all Primarchs. No exceptions.

Theres one exception. Thank you very much. He had wings, was very pretty and got very angry naturally. So both sides say.

He probably could have put his fist through Russ's skull. Leaving both legions impotent. BL at the time was writing that Primarchs could see in bullet time. So surrounding a Primarch with bolt guns probably meant SFA. Unless its girlyman with ceremonial armour, Alpha sneakiness or what ever excuse they come up with next.

another round of primarch top trumps?

Bison says YES YES. I say no.

But Russ is still a little bitch whistlingW.gif

Please don't take this as a suggestion, because it's not. I'll make it orange once I get to a laptop

Discuss the novel in a polite manner and skip the insults or I'll lock the thread and start actually moderating.

Be excellent to each other

Perhaps Chris might reverse the situation

Russ physically beats the Lion...but it becomes crystal clear that the Lion is tactically correct?

I.e. the Lion "bested" him

It's certainly possible to see it that way - Russ wanted to charge on in first, based on honour and all that, regardless of the fact it would cost him in lives. Lion wanted to minimise casualties while accomplishing the same thing: death of the Tyrant of Durant. Easily a way to prove that Leman Russ is a hypocrite to his own lessons.

Perhaps this encounter was what taught him this to begin with??

Well. The story of Dulan ends on "bad terms" but in First Heretic Lorgar is tells Russ to "remember Dulan" or something and that now the Lion and his bond is close/closer.

I almost wish the story was told from Bjorn or another Space Wolf's pov and to other wolves and Dark Angels. The Dark Angel's could interrupt and say things like "thats not what happened. I remembered this...." And then at the end, Russ could sneak in and give his take on the story.  Oh, and they are making their way towards Terra. Liberating worlds and such. As was the case in the old lore.

I just got the email saying it's shipped. smile.png

Need something to sink my teeth in and I did enjoy Battle of the Fang.

Ahhh lucker.

I'm hoping this book won't be complete dribble like the last one. Every great untold story has the potential to be ripped to shreds and done a thorough injustice.

Fingers crossed.

There is a big difference in style for Annandale and Wraight, lol

I have not yet received an email telling me it shipped. However, on the the black library site in "my orders" under "deliver method it says "Delivery method : BL - GBP - ROW Standard"

Does anyone know what this means?

Thanks!

We know that Russ considers the fight with Angron a case of stooping to conquer.

Not really "stooping"...

more like charging at Angron with weapons drawn, only to be thoroughly dominated in front of his men

We must have read different books, because thats not what happened at all.

This always happens when people discuss the Night of the Wolf. The way I see it, if both Russ and Lorgar agree on something, it's probably correct.
