hermanista
So at a basic level, I need an army to play with, as it's been years since I've actually had one fully painted. Having seen KizzDougs Thousand Sons recently, I basically fell in love and thought I'd crack out a quick testor today. After basecoating in Tamiya Metallic red the other day, I had a chance to sit down before and do a quick twenty minute or so test. The idea with the coming of the Prospero set next week, combined with the Calth set I already have is to get a finished army in approximately six weeks. We'll see how it goes, but in the mean time, here's some piccies. Leman Russ SW
Looking good so far. How are thinking of basing them? Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/327137-a-thousand-sons-a-thousand-hours/#findComment-4541043 Share on other sites
hermanista
At the moment, I'm not entirely sure. Probably the Tech bases from GW, as I foresee everyone and their dog*wolf* thinking of doing it Prospero based. Doing something before the incident might be an option, or doing them as Loyalist Sons maybe. Andvarr A
That's a nice red. Coca cola red :p Did you go over the other areas with lhamian medium, or did the washes/paints go on ok? hermanista
The washes went over fine, the gloss effect helped on the black lining front and with a few thin coats to basecoat for other areas it worked out ok. It may well need it when it comes to my first play with weathering powders though, as others have found before. hermanista
So it's been a while, but with the potential for two wargaming campaign events coming up in the next few months, I needed to get my finger from my backside and crack on. A few hours later and we have a veteran squad all but built - picture was taken before the last few pieces were added. With it now being the holidays hopefully I can get a good chunk of stuff built and painted so that I can start getting a game or two in. We'll see though.
