TempestBlade Posted October 22, 2016 Share Posted October 22, 2016 So I was just thinking to myself: we now have all the pieces to recreate the Word Bearers from the First Heteric! It's one of my favorite Horus Heresy books and really made me want to start a Word Bearers army in the first place. Now with the Legio Custodes, we can recreate the "loyal" Word Bearers! I'm thinking using the Mk 3 guys as tacticals (painted grey for the old color scheme),the mk 4 guys from Betrayal at Calth as vets and then add the Custodes in as an allied force. Also, Argel Tal can now have his Custodes spear and sword! Guess I'll just have to build 3 Tals for his 3 phases: jump pack and 2 red iron swords; lightning claws; and then the final spear and sword. Any suggestions on what body bits to use? For phase 3 I'm thinking possessed backpack with wings and raptor bits for body. What am I forgetting? Kol Saresk Posted October 22, 2016 Share Posted October 22, 2016 I don't recall his armor mark being described when he had the two swords, but IIRC, when we see him next in the Gal Vorbak red and black with the lightning claws, he is already wearing the Mk IV. EDIT: Also in his final form(heh!) of using the sword and spear, he is no longer using the jump pack because he uses wings to fly around. There's no mention of a inbuilt gun as far as I can remember. I'd probably use a sanguinary guard sword in its place. The spear seems fine though. So maybe a centurion with jump pack and 2 power swords or power sword and tainted sword just to show his badassness and skill with the instant death. I'm a little bias about him tho lol. @Fenris kid- I agree it's not the same sword but seeing the pictures I like the looks of it. Weapon-wise, Paragon Blade/Tainted weapon would be best but then he would have to use Praetor stats (he is badass enough IMO) rather than a Centurion. To me, they simply aren't designed for such a role. It's specialised power armour for corridor and tunnel fighting, after all. Haven't decided. I haven't found good chaosy Word Bearer type 3rd market shields yet. I want think of the fantasy chaos knight shield but don't know size wise. You use the jump-pack to get above the enemy, and then the additional weight of the front of the armor to accelerate you down and help you survive the impact.
