That green is really nice how have you done it?

The green starts from black undercoat, then all the top surfaces lightened with a medium grey, it doesn't matter which but the green doesn't cover great over black. Then I use Forge World Lupercal green all over as a base, it can take 3-4 coats if you have a black undercoat. I then lighten it using a modulation technique with FW sons of Horus green. Add more coats for highlight areas, less for shade.

The black isn't really black at all it's a mix of Vallejo german grey 70-995 model color or 71-052 model air mixed about 50/50 with black. Vallejo also make a darker grey called black grey 70-862 which I'm going to test and see if it's dark enough. I don't like straight black as I find it too stark. I can also shade recesses with soft body black or in this case I used agrax earthshade as I wanted a used dirty look.

One thing I did before shading was a gloss varnish first as it softens the effect of the wash. The marines I used citadel gloss nuln oil 50% with about 20% biel tan green and 30% gloss varnish and you can then just touch it on with a fine brush and it flows around the details quite tight and doesn't change the armour base colour.
