Chapter Master Furious
A Glorious Welcome to all who have come to witness this new venture I'm about to undertake Since the rise of popularity with the Horus Heresy a few years a ago (dare i say even longer) in the back of my mind it has always been a goal of mine to collect one of the venerable (or treacherous) legions. Really my choice in the end wasn't a hard one: as i've been (and still am) a avid Black Templar player/collector and the obvious choice was Imperial fist. As mentioned before, this represents somewhat of a new type of army. Firstly, this will be the first time ill be painting with yellow, but thanks to GW's great how to video's on Youtube it wasn't hard to find a easy but effective colour scheme. Secondly, this will the first army where the whole theme/ feel will not reflect my past armies (Black Templars, Grey Knights- excluding Astra Militarum). By this I mean a step away from the assault orientated units and more of a focus on mid-long range units, tank hunters, and other quintessential Imperial Fist units. And of course the fact that this army is Heresy Era, with it own units, formations, and overall look and feel that is different to that of 40K. Although this is something a little new to me, I can't help but feel excited on getting a base army started! My first initial step was getting Cataphractii Terminators to test my skills with the yellow here are the results: I'll have to go back to finish up on the lenses, but overall im quite proud of how the yellow and over all scheme turned out! anyways I have already started the armour on the other 4 terminators, so look forward to more updates soon! Chapter Master Furious
Hello again Back again with my completed squad of Cataphractii Terminators, awesome looking squad that I thoroughly enjoyed painting. Here is the finished product Over all, for my first squad, Im pretty happy with how they turned out, and the yellow technique im using seems to working, just need more practice at mastering it. As of future models, I dont have any other units (except for the special edition ultramarine Standard from Forge World) built. I was thinking in terms of future purchases of getting both the Calth and Prospero set. This way I would being gettting a ton of marines to use for tactical squads, support squads etc. but this involes a lot of money ($360 CAD to be exact) and perhaps I can look around and invest in other units. So I'm asking for any suggestions on units I should invest in (Imperial fist specific or not), which help me guide my future purchasing thanks again CM furious Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/327178-stoicism-and-duty-heresy-era-imperial-fist/#findComment-4566840 Share on other sites
Brother Pheidias
Both boxes are great value, no matter which way you're headed. It might do to sketch out the force you want to head towards, as that could well inform your purchasing.
