Sonoftherubric21
So I am relatively new the forum so I apologize if this is in the wrong place! I was looking over some various rules in an attempt to decide on Breacher marines for fun/fluffy games and I happened to read over shattered legion rules. To give perspective; I really like Sor Talgron. Rogal Dorn himself said he would make a good imperial fist, and he lead an elite breacher team into the catacombs of a world of Ultramar, made me want to add Breachers to my Word Bearers. Would it be legal to take Shattered legion, Take an Imperial Fist HQ, and fill the rest of the list with word bearers? Using (as im sure most would guess) the "Stone Gauntlet" rite of war and taking Breachers as basic troops for the list? Make them Word Bearers Breachers, slap them with Dark Channeling, take some terminators and other heavy infantry and go at it? I have not found anything within the shattered legion rules preventing this *that i have seen*. Take a second HQ as my compulsory word bearer hq, take a prateor (sor talgrons stand in) as a Seige-shield equipped Praetor under Imperial Fist legion rules. Any Thoughts, Objections, or Questions regarding this idea id love to hear. Idomeneus
The only issue I can see is that the precise wording of the Stone Gauntlet says that the bonuses only apply to models with the Legiones Astartes (Imperial Fists) rule. To make it work you would probably have to use Imperial Fists breachers and only have Word Bearers as your secondary HQs and elite troops. This would of course stop you from using Dark Channelling on your breachers.
