jimbo13
Hey Guys and Gals, Has anyone played with the legion recon company? I'm going to be starting an Alpha Legion army and am between that and a Pride list. I'd love any feedback from the math hammer and list cruncher types as well. If possible if you've played with it or against it let me know. Like a sponge I shall take in the communities wisdom. I'm doing an escalation league and I have made my decision as to the army just not to how to properly run a crunch filled list. Thanks, Jimbo Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/327242-legion-recon-company-feedback/ Share on other sites

Unfortunately, they were only applied to how it works in conjunction with Raven Guard. I'm looking for general usage, not to say his explanation wasn't good but not what I was looking for. Gabriel Santar
I think this is one of those Rites that'll really depend on the Legion in question. Ravens make the best use of it, and White Scars seem like they could be nasty by sprinting Outriders up the field to get a 2+ Jink turn one/getting +1 to a re-rollable First Turn roll. As for others...ehh. Alphas can get some mileage out of it but, given how they have access to a fair amount of First Turn and deployment shenanigans anyway I'm not sure if first turn Shrouded is enough of a trade-off. Pride's VP surrendering downsides might be a problem for Alphas, but I'd rather pay less points to have two 5-man Sniper Vet' squads as my Troops than more for three 5-man Recon squads. I don't think it's awful. I think you could even have some success with it. But if you're considering it because you want to run small, sneaky teams of specialists, I'd always look at Pride/Chosen Duty first. My thought process was the flexibility of the scout rule you already have with recon squads in conjunction with mutable tactics plus the grabbing first turn/shrouding. With the use of cameoline wouldn't you get killer saves?
