Questions for Peter Fehervari interview?

I don't think Black Templars are really something that suits his style that well. Their zealotry is too "pure" for the twisted stuff he seems to like writing about most. They might show up in one of his stories, but I wouldn't hold out for full novels on them.

Besides, you got Haley on that every so often.

Now if they were to re-release Necromunda, I certainly wouldn't complain about him writing a tie-in novel...

Ask him if he wants to write Black Templars. Emperor knows we need a good writer msn-wink.gif

You don't like Haley take on them?

Ask how he comes up with his exceptionally grim settings. They're all basically death worlds of one shape or another so far, but all different in their twisted nature. I'd like to hear him elaborate on his process getting there, if he has a clear vision going in or adds and rewrites based on ideas coming to him along the way.

And, if you don't mind, poke the bear about original fiction outside of 40k. Because damn, I can see him flourishing with his style with audiences beyond the fandom as well.

Exactly. Nobody writes the grim dark such 'grimdark' and 'spectacular' like him :)

Ooh, I've one. Or two.

1- You've touched on the Imperial/Tau frontier a few times, would you consider a return for more still?

2- you've touched a wide variety of factions (Tau, GSC, Imperial Guard, Death Watch, Skitarii, Chaos, Sisters of Battle, Inquisition, Deathwatch and Space Marines, to list off the top of my head) - is there any in particular that you're keen to do in the future?

3- 'convoluted' is a word that could be used for some of the grander SF themes that are used in the genre, such as time travel or prophecy - how enjoyable do you find them? Useful for tieing up plot ends, good for hanging human stories off of, compelling plot devices, something more?

4- How do you feel about the prospect of fleshing out 'known' events or characters?

5- Given free reign for a story on more obscure topics, how obscure or ambitious would you want to go? Necromunda Underhivers? No-name nobodies from nobody world? Squats?

6- what's coming next?

---

Also, massive thanks to you & Peter for the effort too. His stories have been utterly excellent so far; I look forward to more!

Very much looking forward to this!

Don't think I've seen this asked yet, so I'll put in my only question Id be interested in hearing an answer to:

Beyond the marine Chapters you've touched on so far, are there any other obscure Chapters you'd be interested in writing on and fleshing out? Or even interested in creating from scratch yourself?

First, so glad you guys turned me on to Peter's books Now, last call for questions. Peter needs them tomorrow morning. Reply, PM, @kennylull on twittte or ping us at combatphase.com

Hope you get all the questions and I can't wait to listen to the podcast.

Waiting with the baited breath :)

I know it is too late for questions (really looking forward to this interview) but having just read another interview with PF here...

I wanted to extract a quote from PF that perfectly sums up why I didn't "discover" him sooner. His books have been given the wrong titles! They appear to be pure tie in whereas they are clearly so much more!!!!

The quote...

If you buy a book called ‘Fire Caste’ you expect a story focussed on tau warriors fighting courageously for the Greater Good, hopefully with some insights into their culture along the way. What you definitely don’t expect is a story about the Imperial Guard going insane along a river haunted by ghosts, daemons and fungoid mutants to cheer them along. Hell, this isn’t even a regiment you’ve ever heard of! And anyway, is this the kind of story that’s even appropriate for a 40K tie-in?

Thanks, those links will be in the show notes. We had a lovely long talk. There's like 7 interviews in the queue but I'll get it out soon.

Awesome! We need that one ASAP veterannoob :) It's always nice to listen to the true talent. thanks.gif
