Hobby time is limited, so I have a plan to complete the army at the pace of roughly one unit per week between now and the last week in Dec. That gives me a little time for play testing, list tweaks, display base, etc. I'll post updates here along the way. Here's the basic overview of the army: Emperor's Children; 3rd Company Elite Eidolon + Lvl 2 Librarian + 6 Palatine blades with pwr weapons, Sgt w/phoenix lance in Anvilus Pod Tactical squad, Sgt. with pwr weapon Kakophoni squad x8 Kakophoni squad x8 Contemptor Cortus w/extra dread ccw and chain fist Rapier crew with laser destroyer x2 Leviathan Dread, Gav bombard & siege drill in Dread Pod Leviathan Dread, 2x Cyclonic meltas in Dread Pod Deredeo, heavy lasers & missile pod So pictured above are the results of week 1, successfully completed prior to 10/28. Though, I do see some clean-up needed here & there + final dull coate. Comments always welcome. You might have also seen Eidolon (with the perfectly douchey haircut) posted also. As far as the list goes, the last incarnation included a Knight Atropos as an LoW choice. The rules in the latest red book indicate that Taghamata LoW's can also be taken in Legion armies. But, there's a specific call-out in the Atropos entry saying that it can only be taken as a Taghamata LoW or as part of a Knight army. Since the red book came out after I figured that the more current rule trumped but they felt otherwise. If I have time, maybe I'll be able to finish the Atropos and bring him along w/my other Knight to make an allied detachment for the Vegas mega-battle or he can show up at Adepticon in March. Glad to see Perty's knight on your base as I got my Atrapos second hand and already assembled so no fun stances. I did use Sigismunds sicarian base for my Leviathan if you need fun ideas for the second levi. Banner is gorgeous- the greens seem a little flat, probably the pic. Are you going to paint the jewel between the fronds? Captains raptor on his left shoulder would look great with a background color to Pop the eagles head. Would love to see a stripe or 2 on bolter casings and/or squad markings on the knees to break up the pepto. Yes, the idea was the sarge & the banner being tallest, down to the standing rank then the kneeling. The Atopos: Love the model & the unit, such a rare thing! Is yours posted somewhere? Please share a pic, link, whatever works. Lev & Sigsimund's base: I love that idea, please post/direct me where I can check that out. I just got the model in the mail yesterday so playing around with ideas. Banner: Greens have a yellow highlight but may need some freshening up after the dull coate. Yes, I should color the gemstone and will do so. Captains shoulder pad: I had the same thought and yes, I should give that the pink treatment. Bolter stripes & squad marking: Yes and yes. Time is against me but I'll make time. I'm going to add 2 more of these guys w/Phoenix power spears and now that FW is coming out w/the bits I'm going to hold off till after the Open Day. I have some travel next week so less on the schedule. It's all about getting infantry & dreads based and ready for paint the following week. But, I also got my Librarian/Sorcerer converted & based + most of a Rapier complete. May just finish those off and get a little ahead of schedule. One week and 3/4 of a unit closer to Vegas. I'm sure he must have stealth armor when he's doing his day job; or 17 other suits depending on the job. @son_of_Dorn: The only other things I associate with pink & purple are easter eggs & my little ponies; so yes, it took some time to get a good look for space marines. I took some better pics of the Lib + a rapier platform for good measure. LVO seems closer by the day and I guess it is. I'll get back to painting as long as the pink holds out.
