XV Legion: A world burns for our sins

Three major reasons for the start of this probject should be addressed before we begin.

 

1. I'm horrible with seeing things through. I start with a lot of big ideas and momentum and it fades as soon as a new shiny is in hand. But this is a little different. I'm forced to start small due to the fact I won't build a list till the legion gets all their special rules and goodies. So right now this is all 'just for fun' and fun wins my attention every time.

 

2. I now have an airbrush. So I can do the metallic red that is oh so popular (and with good reason! ) + I've amassed so much painting supplies I have no excuse to drop the project at the painting step.

 

3. There's a quickly growing heresy community near me, and I need to catch up before I'm left in the dust by those with a head start. I'm a touch competitive about weird things so this more than anything will keep me focused.

 

Now that we're up to speed, join me as I board the train with no breaks! Again, as we're in 'just for fun' phase, I've started with something I want to do regardless if it sees use. Starting with Thousand Sons aligned automata. The use of golems in the legion is a detail I'm quite fond of, and I love me some robots.

 

Psych. No robots yet, but a praevian to lead them manifested last night in an insomnia haze. I owe some people here credit as I snagged some ideas right out of other logs, and I will credit them as soon as I sort out who it was again. But finally, the model:

Small update, a WIP of a plasma support squad. Had fun with this one, heavily inspired by the visions art and with a loose theme of 'heresy conversions before fw30k' that being said, BAC got some heavy usage. One detail I do want to point out is the use of gw style mkiv heads. I prefer the fw look but the gw ones felt right here and match up with the Artbook illustrations very well.

Another small update, a very WIP quad mortar rapier and crew. Happy with most of it, though the quad barrel may be to long and I may scrap that part altogether. Not sure what else to do that would be easily reproduced for the next two. But here's what I got:

So another small update for you. Waiting on BOP before this unit sees the light of day. But I had enough spare parts to build a proof of concept breacher marine. So here he is

Thank you. To be honest I'm not happy with the quad mortar. It needs a lot of work still. It's much to front heavy at the moment

That idea was shamelessly stolen from these forums actually. It's the Kill team cassius 'scar biker's sword. Actually most of him is out of that box
