Beard styling Russ

So I definitely envisioned always Russ with beard. Not necessarily full blown but at least some, and seeing how similar the sculpt is to corax and several other primarchs I definitely want to make him a bit more different.

Which beard styles you think he'd look better with?

Here's what he's currently at:

The short logan look works. Maybe something braided (thinking Jack Sparrow here) coming out of his chin, swinging to convey the same kind of motion as his hair?

EDIT: No idea how easy that would be to sculpt but there's braids that could be taken from the 40k plastic SW heads and 'woven in', essentially. Less is more, I think, it's worth keeping that relatively youthful Travis Fimmel/Ragnar Lothbrok warlord look.

Could always go for something like a tied/knotted beard. Its not to wild like one would find with these "viking" beards, and it keeps with the Northern Germanic tribal theme the Wolves have going and does not take too much away from the models face if done right if that's what you are looking for.

I thought I'd seen Russ' FW art leaked online somewhere, but it looked like he had a very short and thin beard, as if he'd not shaved for a couple days.

Wait, I think it was actually really convincing fanart. Can't remember where I saw it though?

Also, I just remembered that Russ has never been depicted with facial hair in official art.

I rather like the wolverine style, but maybe a full viking beard would be cool too

^this, I think. If you wanted to do a full-on nordic beard, maybe you could incorporate some plaits and braids into it? Sort of like a toned-down, much smaller version of this?

So finished setting up on full beard but well trimmed to sort of reminiscence a bit on Thor and reflect the "Young" Russ since eventually I want to make another version of him with 10,000 years more with full blown viking beard, one missing eye and grey hair.

Quite happy but might trim it a bit more when it's fully cured:

Also, in the latest released official FW canvas he does have beard albeit quite short and stubbly:

That's the art I was talking about! Funnily enough, it's the first time he's actually had a beard in official art. Nice greenstuff, I'd like to see him fully painted!
