Warhammer 40K Open Day, what's your Question?

Will there ever be a new FAQ/Errata? Will Destroyers get fixed since they supposedly ran out of time? Will Strike Captain Mauns dedicated transport issue get fixed? etc etc etc

Moritat model release when? Bonus: Will they get un-nerf'd to back playability?

Mine would be:

Was it intentional for Tartaros Terminators taken in an Imperial Fists army to be unable to equip Storm Shields?

Because, RAW, they can't and that seems...funky.

+1

There's a lot of rules goofs. Like some of the campaign advancement tables are actually detrimental(last two morale) or don't actually work(Ferocious Escalade makes leaderships 1d6 for fear tests).

They really need some sort of errata/faq outreach program. Somethings are just simple fixes.

Brothers and sisters,

For those who can't make this event, please leave your questions here and I will try to get them answered. I will try to get this first post updated with as many questions as possible. 30k questions only please...

Just to start things:

When is Inferno released?

What is after inferno?

When's Adeptus Titanicus to be released?

Did they confirm a date for Inferno?

Was there a date for IA: Fires of Cyraxus?

Interested in the release of AT as well though Atia recently mentioned first half of 2017, would be nice if more specific.

1) BattleBunnies reported Inferno should be up for pre-release February 4th. WHOOP WHOOP

2) After Inferno, no date so far? But if Inferno is gone to printers, they're working on finishing it.

When will the Iron Warriors Legion specific units (Tyrants, Iron Havocs, Kyr Vhalen, etc.) be released?

They are being worked on, but no release date. The sculptor (Rob) wasn't there.

Any info on the Custodes/ sisters of silence army, does it contain other stuff as well? Is there a SoS HQ choice? Will FW do infantry kits for those armies?

This has been covered elsewhere. Custodes will get the initial love, but sisters should get stuff off the back off this. Sisters will be in squads of all the same weapon though. This is confirmed, so the BoP set gives you three troop types. Alan confirmed they do have tanks, speeders and everything else, so they may be able to take the custodes vehicles, but this is me reading between the lines.

Spoiler for Praetorian of Dorn

Are the Dorn and Alpharius going to be duelling? And held back for the start of the Sol conflict now?

And will we see a second version of Alpharius now Omegon lost all his shiny toys (Presumably).

Could we please use Jump Pack, Despoiler weapons and breaching shield add ons for the plastic Mk3/4 kits :D Pretty please!

Some destroyer points love would be ace, poor things!

Whilst i expect they will almost certainly be different any word on Sanguinary guard or death/raven wing units that may appear in future?

And on a slightly more 40k front:

Ooooh the new IA book sounds so cool, any and all info!

And the Eldar corsair upgrades, any eta on them returning to stock?

Any news on the much rumoured united Mechanicus codex?

Main thing for blood/dark angles is they will get the next book (90% certainty from both Tony and Alan). The next primarch is likely to be sanguinis, but he may be after Valdor. Interesting note about DA is they use the checks as a rank badge. The colour indicates rank.

GW were very tight lipped on future releases. Nothing on Codexes expect no squats.

While I appreciate the thread, I'm not sure you'll get many answers. It is a 40K weekend (although it's already looking very 30K with its releases). That being said - you don't ask, you don't get, so go for it.

I'll just add to the chorus of Iron Warriors asking about Tyrants and Havocs.

Also, if you could ask FW wether they intend to create more upgrade kits instead of complete resin units now that we have plastic MKIII and IV, eg. Breachers.

Just interested to see what their direction is going to be with these sorts of things in the future.

Thanks. :)

while. Did ask a bit of the fires of cyraxes, most talk was about Heresy. The question about upgrades was not really answered as you requested it. The legion upgrades will continue. Asked about breachers and was told it seems like the obvious thing to do, rather that yes.

I would personally ask on facebook. They do pass these queries on to the rules teams. You will at least get an official response on an official and public comma took. Better than some guy asking the question at an event.

Alright, just did. I'll let everyone know the answer if and when I get one.

I'd say also ask if the Shadow Crusade is still being touched upon, as I'd love to see Argel Tal and some various other possessed gribblies for my Word Bearers.

The shadow crusade may be touched on, but the priority is to flesh out all legions first. It could be touched on earlier if the book calls for it.

Sorry slips, this slipped through the net. You may want to try Face Book or an e-mail.

Will you sell the dead marines used in the display boards please?

Mark Bedford said it would be a good idea. The seed is planted and I will bug him at the weekender ;)

Moritat should be out before or at the weekender. Tbh, the design studio don't have the visibility of the release schedule. The new knight is due out for Christmas (end Nov or beinging December).

Sorry the rules questions slipped through the net. The big problem with the rules are the team is working on the books, which are all late.

Mine questions would be:

Are they going to rerelease the Death Korps Transfer sheet?

And are they ever going to release the moritat?

They didn't say. about the transfers, the person who does them was not there to ask. Apparently there was news on some today.

Inferno is due for the weekender assuming pirates don't hijack the ship.

Fires is due mid 2017, possibly Warhammer fest, but could equally be the open day.

AT was not really discussed (I did ask Mark but he was allowed/able to discuss). Specialist games were not in attendance. My understanding is it was due for the weekender, but may have been delayed to later in the year.

2) is actually the most interesting question here in a way. Inferno was delayed due to The tie in for BoP. Alan hinted that the next book MAY be a tie in to another game. Bear in mind, he loves messing with your head, so it could be misinformation.

Can we get something that's not "When will X get released?"

Here's a few:

Could you explain the process of making changes to units for the Red Books? How much additional playtesting is done or is it just based on community feedback?

How is the writing for the Black Books divided? Is it by sections, or does one author take the lead with others just filling in the gaps?

How many projects are normally being worked on by authors/artists/modelers at one time?

How has the split between working on FW products and specialist games affected everyone's work environment?

They do some play testing and listen to the customer feedback.

Writing of books is basically run using normal project management techniques. Alan will be given a timeline and will get a team (fall of Orpheus was just him, inferno was 4? People and him). Alan is in creative control so is effectivley the lead author. The writing is done first, the type setting and artwork.

The artists a FW work load depends on the artist and the projects. A big project (warlord titan, primach, mastadon) will take up most of the time. Other projects they may have multiple things going on.

Sorry, didn't ask about the split between FW and specialist games.

This would make me very happy^

Will Primarchs ever get helmets as an option?

Custodes, Sisters and agents of the Imperium are loyalist only -  will there be any agents of the warmaster available to all traitors, or assassins such as Remiare from Mechanicum?

On that note, will Ingethel the Ascended, or the Red Angel Meros, make it to the Character series?

Will each legion get a third unique rite of war?

Plastic MK2 and outrider bikes in the Dark Angels Vs Nighlords Thramas box set please

Right. Helmeted primachs may happen, but not yet, the first will probably be Alpharius.... For obvious reasons.

Agents of disloyalty already exist, Horus uses the SoH in this function. As ten heresy goes on expect to see SoH be put in positions of command that cause conflict. Also, the SoH don't fight wars of attrition were possible, the order other legions into these fights. Later on, davinite preists and warrior lodge leaders will fulfil these functions too.

I wouldn't rule out either DA or BA being in a new Heresy box next year. The last too black books and boxes were planned to tie in.

As legions evolve, the rites will change. For example, at Prospero, the SW are a standard legion fundamentally, sure thy have some specalist units and a propensity for close combat, but are still a crusade legion. Runes are painted on to armour, wolf pelts are not commonly worn, however Events, first at prospero and then at Yarrant will change them. The "Wolf Cull"... Alan has toyed with me and Drake Seta dropping this before.

As promised, I received an answer from FW concerning Deathshroud and here it is:

"Hi Mick,

If you use the normal Deathshroud models then they will use the Tartaros rules but if you create your own with other Terminator armour then you can use the other rules.

Thanks,

Tris@FW"

Thank you for the info, especially about WOlves.

Have mixed feelings about the info from Blight, but will look forward to Inferno anyways

to be honest Dantay, I'm still hoping there is a bit of a split between Terran and Fenris marines. So a company on mainly fenrisian marines feel that way, Terrans will be more organised and uniform. I loved how this was handled in betrayal esp death guard as it showed the real culture clash expressed violently.

As much as some folks think I am a die hard Space Wolf Wacko!! (half true) I would like something along the same lines.

The lack of evolution and "still fundamentally a crusade legion", makes the more cynical side of me expect to get a very plain Jane legion with little to no diversity to make them stand out. unlike say DA who have the rumoured 6 wings etc... All legions were fundamentally crusade legions.

There are a few other bits which made me raise my eyebrows, but that is for another discussion or PM.

I am also wondering how FW are going to handle wulfen, considering they said they would be very different from 40K wulfen.

However the optimist in me is hoping that there will be a positive shift away from the 40K-trope of the Space Wolves, but still find a rules and fluff combo to make them really unique.

No one ever asks about Ultramarines... ;)

This is true.

But the designers present were limited, and I only got a 2 quick questions of the man in the know, mr Cottrel (next black book and next primach). Ultras are getting upgrades, and have a primach. Consol yourself brother, There are legions in far worse states (like my alphas - no primach, even though our book was way before the ultras, only one of our legion specific squads)
