Does AdMech armies have a high or low model count?

It kinda depends on what you put in your army. My two cents would be:

Skitarii: This is somewhere in the middle. At 1500 points I usually have 40-50 models on the table. Mostly because 10 man vanguard squads are the mainstay.

Cult Mech: Pretty low model count. At the same 1500 points, you will probably have about 20 models. The troop units are just a lot lower model count.

But I tend to have a different view on model count because my main army is Renegades and Heretics, where a 1500 I'm bringing a model count around 200 tongue.png

Depending on how you mix and match the two armies will depend on how many models you use.

Well put!  For the most part, if you'll be playing the armies as a whole (which many AdMech faithful do) then Skitarii are the bodies while Cult Mechanicus are your hard-hitting elite-killers.  This is pretty fitting with the background, though don't forget that Imperial Knights are a common feature in AdMech armies and so can lower the body count drastically by their mere presence.

I do own a Knight.. But I only use it if my opponent also brings a super heavy (Thats how we do it here, No super heavies/gargantuan creatures unless both players agree to it) But I like AdMech, I wanted a AdMech army for a long time before they came out. Then I got dissapointed they got split into 2 codexes (3 if you count knights.. But not all Knights are AdMech) I'm thinking of starting AdMech as a army to practise on, Practise clearning and preparing and assembling models propperly, Aswell as painting correctly.

If you're going to be starting out, the Start Collecting! box is pretty excellent.  Literally everything in it is useful for the army.  The double codex thing is unfortunately a necessary evil, but when you look at the content of the two books combined, the price is reasonably comparable to Codex: Space Marines.  From a playing standpoint, the two books really do work together very well (ie. the Skitarii don't have HQ and Cult Mech don't have FA or any vehicles).

I do currently own a handful of models for Skitarii (That I won in a tournament) I got 1 box of Vanguard, 2 Onager Dunecrawlers and 1 Dragoon, Plus the Skitarii codex. Only built 7 of the Vanguard and 1 Dunecrawler so far.. It's been going slow for me cus I havent decided what to do yet..

Ive jsut started on my skitarii using the get started box and building everything in it 10 man vanguard, onager (which its possible to  be magentising 3/4 weapons loadouts on) and the techpriest are all really nice models.

My initial plan is to make a troop heavy skitarii force with at least 3-4 units of vangard and some onagers as a shooty ally for my SW. But then ill probably add some cult mechanicus in furher down the line as they look like they work very well alongside skitarii

Skitarii actually make excellent allies for most Imperial armies, as they bring cheap bodies (assuming you take Vanguard) and excellent fire support (Onagers).  If you don't mind spending the cash, Ballistarii/Dragoons are very powerful and mobile too.

You can magnetize all the options with zeal, more magnets and time.

This is true, I've got one about halfway done.  I have the Icarus Array and Heavy Phosphor done so far, so it's possible.

haha oh aye most likely! its the time thing that stops me a lot of the time (damn) though.
