m_r_parker
Hoping to get some advice from people who know a little about colour theory on this one. I'm wanting to do a Crimson Fist force with metallics, and I already know the blue is going to be a bit tricky. Having read through the FW HH Masterclass book, I've seen how the team have done the Magaera knight with metallic red, using green and blue as a pre-shade in the recesses to provide depth. For doing a deep metallic blue, is there a similar pre-shade colour that isn't obvious that would do a great job? Part of me is thinking that a purple wash makes sense - but then I wouldn't think of pre-shading green underneath red. Anybody have any advice? Or has anyone done it before with good results? Cheers! Atia
I would think blue would work with red as preshade? Haven't tried it yet, but it sounds "right" in my head ^.^ Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/328222-shading-dark-metallic-blue-crimson-fist/#findComment-4574497 Share on other sites
Major_Gilbear
Dark brown/umber is a great shade for dark blue - it has a little red in it, so when you mix it into the blue it contrasts with the blue to create a darker shade that's not outright black. :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/328222-shading-dark-metallic-blue-crimson-fist/#findComment-4574704 Share on other sites
