Of Swords and Sorcery- Dark Angels and Thousand Sons

Evening,

So I'm trying to knuckle down with my HH army, and since I really can't decide between which legion to focus on first, i decided to just push ahead with both of them.

They will both be different types of force, using different rites of war to push them in different directions. Speed wise they'll also be different, the Thousand Sons are mostly from the box with a few conversions and FW bits but otherwise a speed force to allow me to get a painted army on the table for the first time in a while. The Dark Angels however will be much more bits intensive with a variety of conversions to form a unique veteran force.

On the way is two big forge world orders, but in the mean time I started cracking on with the Calth and Prospero sets to get some stuff on the table, along with the first test model for the Thousand Sons.

I am struggling to decide which way the armies will go, in the post is two sicarian venators and a leviathan, so potentially the Sons will go tank heavy and the Angels go for a deep strike force.

But we'll see I suppose.

Which way would you see them going I guess is the question to ask.

So it's been a while, but with the potential for two wargaming campaign events coming up in the next few months, I needed to get my finger from my backside and crack on.

A few hours later and we have a veteran squad all but built - picture was taken before the last few pieces were added.

With it now being the holidays hopefully I can get a good chunk of stuff built and painted so that I can start getting a game or two in. We'll see though.

Nice! I am feeling the dilemma re doing Sons and Angels, I can't help but love how the MKIII suits DA's!!

Nice work on the 1k Son veterans, I like it; I have done a very similar thing with my vets; just find painting all that trim a real beast....

Looking forward to seeing this progress!
