tuco
I've been away from 40k for at least two editions now, and HH has gotten me back in. I'm looking at legion options and am currently leaning toward Iron Hands with some Mechanicum influences. I'm still not still not sure I have a solid handle on exactly how the Allies rules work yet (last time I played that really wasn't a thing), so bear that in mind if my question seems stupid. I really like the Imperial Knights models and I'd like to include one in my army if I could, but I don't see how. If I include Mechanicum as allies, they only have access to IK as Lords of War which aren't options for allies, correct? I could also include IK as allies, but I'm not sure I want to sink that many points and dollars into two Knights to meet the compulsory Force Organization slots for allies, plus I'm pretty sure players in my group would toss accusations of cheese at me, no matter the end outcome of the game. So, is there a Rite of War, legion-specific rule, special character, or just plain overlooked/misunderstood-to-me rule that would allow me to run a single Knight in my legion list? Thanks in advance. Carlson793
You can't usually. This is covered in the Taghmata Army List under Army Selection/Force Organization Charts (p16): Unless specified by a particular mission, all of the units chosen as part of the Primary and Lords of War detachments must be from the same army list and same Faction (in the case of a Space Marine Legion, they must also have the same version of the Legiones Astartes special rule as well where relevant). K3nn3rs
It's been updated in the latest legion red book (someone else will need to dig out the reference - I'm away from my books. Essentially you can take any knight except the Atrapos as a LoW in a legion list. Baluc
It's been updated in the latest legion red book (someone else will need to dig out the reference - I'm away from my books. Essentially you can take any knight except the Atrapos as a LoW in a legion list. You can take up 0-2 of any 1 SHV/W with up to 8 hps. Inside your regular percentages a a LoW choice under the Warmachine detachment rules. The list was extended to include Knights as per the LA:CAL.
