Redfinger
I have been working on some true scale conversions. This is a size comparison between a standard marine, true scale based off of cataphract armor and then Cassius from kill team. I think the scale looks good, and I am surprised how in scale my true scale looks with Cassius. Also, I feel like standard marine arms and pads look good as well. The upper body may be a touch big, but I am going to experiment and see what I can figure out. Grotsmasha
Size looks good, it adds a lot of bulk, but not as much height that others do. If you're going to game with them, not having the added height should prevent "modelling" for advantage accusations. Doghouse
Marines that have been released recently are slowly starting to creep up in height, from what I can tell with the Death Watch marines apart from being more upright they seem to have snuck in a milometer in height spread over the legs. What I found with using the cataphracti for the torso is to shave the sides of the torso down a little. Redfinger
@Doghouse, what arms are you finding work best with the cataphracti torsos? Also, do you have any experience with the tartaros legs and torsos? I am thinking of getting some terminator torsos and seeing how they look with either sets of legs. The Tartaros torso is really good for this kind of thing, like I was saying to you before the plastic legs do need a bit of trimming to get rid of the upper thigh plates but the actual forge world resin versions seem to be a lot thinner with these negating the need to trim although the legs are also slightly longer which does make them taller. The best arms that I personally have found so far are the Mk III plastics because they are a bit bulkier, Mk 4 also are a tiny bit bulkier than Mk VII plastics. You can use regular Indominus pattern terminator arms but it's a lot more work and will soon ramp up the cost of the project as you need a set of storm shield arms and a regular storm bolter arm. The beauty of MK III parts for me is the arms and the shoulder pads, both of which are a little larger than the MK IV/VII plastics. KBA
Couldn't agree more about the MK III arms. They're all I use :) Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/328372-spacemarine-size-comparison-feeling-hopeful/#findComment-4594440 Share on other sites
