Heralds of Ruin - Sisters Killteam

I've wanted to use a Sororita army for as long as I can remember, but I've never been able to justify the cost of buying a full 2,000+ point army.

Fortunately my local gaming group have just announced a Killteam Campaign to start in the new year, and with the announcement of the beautiful new Cannoness release, this seems like the perfect excuse to invest in a small 250 point army. :D

That being said, I don't know the first thing about Killteam or the units available for SoB, so I was hoping someone would be able to point me in the right direction.

Naturally, I want to use the new Canonness model as my team leader, so I'd probably have to run her as a "Palatine".

I'm not overly fussed about having the jump pack units (Seraphim?) as I'm also running an all jump-pack Blood Angels list.

Ideally I'd like to keep it all female, so no priests etc.

From what I understand, the Sisters excel with Flamers and Melta, so I'd like to stick with that theme as much as possible.

Any of you guys familiar with the Heralds Of Ruin rules that would be able to help me decide what models to buy / use?

I've not used the HoR KT rules yet, but I have run a SoB KT fairly recently. I took a Dominion squad with 2x meltas, a flamer and stormbolter. Gave one melta the longer range, the other FnP I think it was and the Stormbolter the sniper rule. It worked well, the additional numbers are always useful in KT and the Rhino let me dictate things somewhat.

Keeping a distance and righteous bolter fire provided victory for the Sisterhood, and I didn't even use any AoF - Dominions had no need of it against Marines but the option to have each Sister use her own act is pretty nifty. So much like for a SoB army in general you can't go wrong with some Sisters and a Rhino to scoot about in so that makes it easy, as it's only a matter of your choices for them. Melta is essential as your primary AT and flamers less so for KT.

I also had a Seraphim list that I didn't get the chance to run, but I think that was for the best - mobility is great but a smaller KT size with a 12" range at best is risking getting out gunned.

For HoR Kill Team, I love to bring two Retributors with heavy bolters. I'm not that familiar with the newest version of the HoR Sisters list, but I also enjoy Seraphim in Kill team.

Other than that, I do think that the basic Battle Sister is good, since you can put a good number of models on the table that way (and an extra special/heavy weapon).

Celestians are also an option for an extra weapon.

I was thinking something like this:

Leader:

Palatine - Bolt Pistol, Sword of St. Sabbat

Core:

Battle Sister - Boltgun

Battle Sister - Boltgun

Battle Sister - Boltgun

Battle Sister - Boltgun

Battle Sister - Multi-Melta

Special:

Retributor - Heavy Bolter

Retributor - Heavy Flamer

Hospitaller - Bolt Pistol

How many Meltabombs does it cost to give a Battlesister a Multi-melta? (I don't have the codex yet)

all heavy weapons are 2 meltabombs. Meltaguns are also 2, and Storm bolters and Flamers are 1 smile.png

BTW, the electronic codex has not been on the GW webstore for a while now. Not sure if it's still available through iBooks or the Black Library directly though.

Oh, and I almost forgot. As you are a new Sisters player . . .

Here is your flamer and 3 barrels of the Emperor's Holy Promethium. Speak to a mod when you run out (or before). :P
