AdMech Eradication Cohort

As a newbie to AdMech, very please to see this go up on the GW site.

I calculate you save over £60 with this?? and most of it is stuff i was planning to get anyway eventually (except maybe the electropriests).

My wallet definately could have done without the temptation this close to xmas though :)

I needed another of everything i already have from the box and needed the things i don't. So with a saving like that i got my local game store to order me in one that's for sure. The formation might possibly be nice icing on the cake, but i'm already up for that cake :)

Start Collecting box was a great start. This just makes it better. Between the Start Collecting and the Battleforce boxes, you'll have one of each AdMech kit except Knights. Buy two of each box, and you'll have one of each unit - not many other 40K armies you can do that with.

Id be interested to see if its actually the full kits in the battleforce box,

just on the page the admech one very specifically says '3 Kataphron Battle Servitors - Destroyers'

How do the sprues in that kit usually work, is there a base sprue, and then one for destroyers, one for breachers?

I think the kits are mixed too thoroughly to be able to separate one from the other. I just recently started assembling the Kataphron Destroyers and the Breacher limbs and armour are on the same frame. I would assume similar with the Sicarians.

man It would be nice to not own half this box already =| I already got robots out the USB port, and I already got destroyers and a dragoon. It would be nice to have two sets of those though... Will have to think about it more for the future.

The contents of this box are definitely messing with my purchase priorities!  I have one of most of it (no priests) but want at least one more of each, and it's $93 cheaper in the bundle than separately (IIRC, I did the math when they first put the blurb up over the weekend), so it's definitely a phenomenal value.  But on the other hand, I do still need a Knight, and I desperately need a carry case for my minis (all of which are expensive), so I hope this is around for awhile because I might not be able to go for it right away.

It's not bad, it'll make focused fire really scary. I think I was expecting more since it's so many models. I think if you have this and the Start Collecting box, most of the time you'll probably be better off running them as a Skitarii Maniple and a Battle Congregation, but this could maybe be more useful as an add on to a detachment since the only tax is really the e priests.

I realy don't think we will see this formation that much on the table...

The units seen a little random and very restrictive (Servitors need to be Destroyers; E-Priests Fulgurite; just 1 Dragoon, not more etc.)

To get Prefered Enemy in the shooting Phase you need to wound something with the Kastellans, the Infiltrators or the Destroyers first.

To shoot the Kastellans PLUS the Destroyers on one thing might be Overkill very often. To shot with the Infiltrators first and then with the Kastellans or Destroyers will very often whipe out the unit, so that there is nothing left to charge for the Infiltrators.

In CC the rule could be very nice. Kill something with the Dragoon on I6 to give the Priests and/or the Infiltrators PE. But to be honest, E-Priests are still not scary enough and might easily be dead before striking thanks to I3, and Infiltrators can already get Zealot for just 20 points as a Relic.

Cool deal, nice to get started with Ad Mech in addition to Start Collectin Box, but the rules are not realy worth it imho.

And also good to see that there is another Skitarii / Cult Formation smile.png

Hmm, that's a little dissapointing but cool none-the-less. It's also interesting to think about.

Maybe use the sniper dragoon as a sort of preferred enemy giver/range finder from long range and maybe give the infiltrators stub carbines and just have them sit in the middle? IT's a lot of points for just snipers but if you max out the bots and destroyers maybe they would be worth it.

It's a nice idea, but the Electropriests are pure tax.  Especially Fulgurites.  Also, a single Sydonian Dragoon is next to useless.  If it said "one unit of Sydonian Dragoons" we might have something to talk about.

If you want everything else, though, 90 pts isn't that bad of a tax. I've been happy with my lone dragoon so far (though I do intend to buy a ton more of them), you just have to use it a bit more subtly. But seems like the only time you'd want this formation.

maybe put the electro priests in something like a heavy bolter bastion or (if you have it/wanna bother with it) a plasma obliterator  to give them a little extra range punchies.

You know, if the kastelans had splitfire this entire formation would be a lot better.

And add a haemotrope reactor to that plasma obliterator to increase that further.

don't forget keeping some plasma destroyers near that to increase that more.
